Why is there no gold watches?

I bought a VSF Bluesy and it did look like cheddar, had to sell it because it looked off. I've heard Clean does the (fake) gold better. I stick to SS models for this reason. I would love to have gold but they just can't match real Rolex gold. Plating seems like a lot of effort considering that it scratches easily and eventually wears off.

if anyone ordered solid 18K gold watches before ? what's experience and cost about it ?

I got a price for a 128348RBR carnelian dial in 18k solid gold in which everything except the crystal and the movement was custom made - $17K.

I've never been big into gold, maybe because my wedding band is platinum, but I did see a John Mayer Daytona pop up the other day that had been full YG plated and was stunning. The combination of emerald dial and YG case worked very well. If I thought for a second I could pull it off, I would've snagged it.

But the consensus I've read does seem to be that it's just hard to do justice compared with solid gold. The weight is another big issue unless you go full tungsten and then plate.

I can pull off a Day Date I don’t flaunt it to anyone and I’ve found even with gold, just about everyone doesn’t really take note of it They probably think it’s a plated watch from a department store. Just do use your head about wearing one in less than safe areas.
