Why does it 'seem' that TAG is not as respected of a brand?

I'm a noob here, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents. I've never been a big watch guy and always went the cheap route. The Kenneth Coles, the Fossils, the low end "let me wear them and chunk them to the side watch", until I bought my first Tag a few weeks ago. I've always browsed the Tag's, Movados, Omega's, etc... but never thought I would ever spend that much on a watch, until I saw this:

Purchased this Gen Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 RS2 about a month ago and been loving it ever since. Tag Heuer opened my eyes to these timepieces and now there's no turning back.

I too also think alot of it has to do with the preference, style, and age also. I'm 26 and prefer the sportier, sleeker look, which is how the RS2 caught my eye and convinced me to actually purchase it. I would never purchase a Rolex as in my eyes, that's my dad's generation of watch, not mine. I know for the price, I could have purchase a large assortment of gens, but the RS2 hit the spot for me.

But what do I know.. I'm just a noob... :lol: But I sure do love my Tag! :mrgreen:

Thanks fellas for the comments. Yea, no regrets on this watch as it's even secksier when I'm in my car. lol What makes it an even sweeter deal is that the wife really purchased it for me. I just had to give up one of my other toys in trade, cause a guy can only have soo many toys to make sure mamma stays happy. But it's all good. :twisted:

haha. U know I'm addicted when I'm looking at reps and the watch forums on my phone while I'm at the bar with the wife and her gf's. I'll post more pics along with some videos tomorrow.

I absolutely love the RS2! I love my rep RS2, but the gen is probably the only brand new gen watch that I would actually want to spend £4000 gbp on.

So much that I was considering selling off a few gens and a lot of reps to partially fund it!!

The RS2 is my all time favourite TAG.

(funny how theres 2 versions around: a silver or red TACHYMETER bezel)

Can't say I don't respect TAG as a brand, just other brands I recognize more. If I were asked to name brand name watches, what comes to my mind are Rolex, Omega, Breitling, then maybe Tag. So it just there brands I "respect" more than Tag.
