For some reason, with my hundreds of reps, I only wear and collect one in particular at the moment. Rolex Rainbow Daytona’s. Here are some of my rainbow’s

hMmWT4.jpeg

The 2 upper right rainbow’s are from Hillbilly and weigh appx 137 grams each. But the gems of my collection are the 3 lower rainbows and these weigh 225 GRAMS!!!
None of these are cheap or inexpensive and I have to pay extra for the heavy Tungsten 225 gram rainbows. These are what I am looking for. For whatever reason I am looking for some more 225 gram Rainbow Daytona’s. Anyone have someone that can make some for me or have one for sale? In order to get 225 gram weights we are talking of the entire watch being Tungsten not just the band. When it’s just the band being tungsten then the weight is closer to 180 grams. Appreciate anyone’s help in locating some more of these 225 gram rainbow’s. Please excuse the poor quality photo as I can assure you that these watches are some of the finest made. The Lower left watch is one I had to overpay and literally take off the wrist of Trillonario himself who may have owned one of the finest colllections of reps on the net. 3 years ago he had a custom rainbow Daytona made out of 18k gold and wears nothing but the finest of reps.
Thanks
Gerald

Wow!

What a collection!

In my opinion the Rolex Rainbow is the best looking watch you can get!

I had mine made by AMF a few years ago with a 100% RG band. The trouble is because my wrist is so thin it is waaay under weight when links are taken out! This was in the days before Tungsten was used.

I would really like to upgrade my case from S/S plated RG to a Tungsten RG plated if I can find someone who would do it. To my eyes, because AMF is so good I can't tell it from a Gen - the ONLY thing that gives it away is the weight. But it ALWAYS will feel light because of my thin wrist.

Keep up the good work, but I really can't see why just 3 (i.e. Gold, RG and s/s) isn't enough? Jus a fetish I guess!!

Great watches, for real.
I know the taste may varry and those bling pieces arent for everyone. I personally really love them.
But when you worn the gen and a rep both, you really cant call those replicas a piece of art :D

4/6 of your watches still with plastic, so whats the point?
I only wear one of the Hillbilly rainbow’s’ on special occasions and wear a cheap $200 knock off rainbow that I wear daily to the gym. I don‘t wear 95% of the watches I buy. Basically at this point I’ve got more money than watches and trying to even things out. 😱😎

Beg to differ. I also have genuine Rolexes which I don;t give 2 shits about. The above watches to me are some of the finest on the rep market. Just like art, some like ’em and appreciate the value and some don’t. But to say building a 225 gram rainbow Daytona with the finest materials available isn;t art….well lets agree to disagree. I paid $3700 for Trillonario’s Rainbow and you couldn’t buy it from me for 2x the price. So we both see “art” differently. In the meantime, I need more art in my life. Someone out there help me get another 5-10 more of these to settle me down.😱😱😱😎

If you know to love this watch

Why not sell all of them and go for an 18k solid gold build with the best sapphires available from a modder? Instead of spending more and more on imperfect ones? I think they go for around 18-20k depending on gold price.

The thing I would aim for with the rainbow is the bezel..... then dial.... then the rest of the build is pretty standard but those two are the most important in a rainbow build.

In all of your rainbow daytonas, I only need to look at the bezel transition color to know the quality. Only one of them is okay, the rest is a instant rep call out.

What a funny story! The one you bought to Trillonario happens to be my build, as I sold it to him, I won’t say the amount but less than what you paid bro…

Me and @Ac1013 search for the parts to build it, it is a nice watch but not art, brushed parts on tungsten bracelet are way too shiny.

Hope you enjoy it!

Wow, wow, wow!

Shows what a different bunch we RWI guys are!

If having a number of Rainbow Daytonas rocks your boat, more power to you!
In the end, if you ever get tired of your collection, you can still sell them at a little loss for somebody else to enjoy, especially those who haven't been worn at all.

I see your point in admiring the looks of those watches. Purely from a styling perspective, they make as much a statement as possible in the watch world. Can't think of any watch that tops the Rainbow Daytona. It just takes a special person to wear them.

100% agree with this, I'm very familiar with the modders you (@galevin) have referenced above and I know the level of variation in quality from one modder to the next can be significant, especially in a model as intricate as this.

Given the sheer volume of rainbows you have and the money you have spent on them, The logical next step from my perspective would be to go for a full gold build. The cost of a build like that is going to be in the low 5 figures, but selling a few of your existing pieces will easily offset that cost.

I just don't see you getting much better than you already have using tungsten cases, tungsten cases also still have question marks over their longevity, I've seen plenty of examples of plating chipping away from tungsten cases over time due to how the gold adheres to the surface, depending on the medium used to bond the gold to the surface.

Save your money and time and just go balls to the wall - that's my opinion anyway ;)

Trillonario here, and no it’s not the one you sold me.
The one you sold me was traded against another watch and was later on sold on the discord reptimebst by the member I traded with.
I parted ways with it because the plating on bracelet looked very bad (copper-like), the small stones at the end of the lugs were missing and dial indexes were misaligned.

The watch the other member mentioned was a newly built one in full tungsten with an updated case and bracelet and overall better looks.

No problem bro, just thought it was this one by the description he gave, and nothing against that watch nor your selling price, you are right on the details to improve on that one.

Case was IPK as we spoke back then so the stone missing was a matter of the maker.

I think the new ZF might improve it bastly.
