Which PAM's are hot?

anything with the p.9000 movement is hot right now.
and the new ceramic cases as well. reference the 386.

I hear the V1/Noob/Whatever factory (288k maker) is putting out a 005 in the
very near future, so if that's true, then they can have that glory. besides the 000
and 005, I'm guessing the real money lies in the new watches.

p.9000 movement, mini-fiddy case, there's 7 models that fall in this category.
and I'm guessing if the p.9000 can be made from an a7750 with a nice rotor and
a nice cover plate to at least look close to the gen movement, it would be a great
success. there's another thread here by Mark I think asking the same thing Angus,
and of course your thread at Rep Geek asking about the above mentioned p.9000
watches.

I personally want to see a nice 113 or 114, there are NO good 113 or 114 reps. I
have your best attempt at it Angus, from you, but it's still waaay off from gen. with
the new 111j cases out, and movements, it shouldn't be too hard to make a 113
dial I would think. One might think white faces don't sell well, but look at the 251k
and the 188h that came out, they sold very well, and those are daylight chronos.

p.s. thank you for the Pam love and the accurate reps that will follow, I'm a super happy
customer knowing more very accurate Pam reps are in the works.

This is not what I saw from RG, they said no to the P9000 models, they prefer other watches with closed caseback or same movement outlook instead of the P.9000 models.

We are not supposed to "leak" the info which watches are coming as these info may influence the sales of current watch models, but as you have already heard about the 005 then I can confirm it, yes it is coming very soon and it will be made by the same maker makes 288K, 177L and 219L, you probably can image how it will look like in your mind =)

We are working the 5 models of the P.9000 PAM's (will only do the 2 titanium models only if the SS models sells well), you words made me feel more positive on these models. I was worried when I saw the RG thread.

I will report your need to the maker regarding the white dial PAM's and hope they will include them in the production list.

More comments are welcomed, please keep going.

I think the issue with the p.9000 is the faith in the factories to do a good job on
the movement. I think the rotor and bearing they can pretty much nail. the rotor is
just one solid, brushed piece with polished anglage. and the logo can be printed on,
no real need for engraving. they've gotten fond of printing lately, so that should
be a feasible option. but making a so-called cover plate to sit directly under the rotor
and to cover the majority of the movement (minus the balance) seems to be the
area we're most concerned about. again, it can be printed on, and the piece itself is
just brushed ss with polished anglage. but the mechanics of making it actually work
and look correct probably aren't nearly as easy as we'd imagine or hope.

and therefore without an in-house looking movement, the luster of those models fades
enormously. I think the overall consensus is that we love the 288k simply because
it's so very close to gen. It's pretty much a watch that was never on anyone's to-
buy list, but it made it on to most of them due to it's quality of replication.

that is in large part due to the closed caseback. the 288k maker is gaining a reputation
for using, we'll say, not the best or newest movements, but putting these sub-par
movements in amazing case sets. if you close the case set with a closed caseback,
then you're possibly reaching directly into super rep territory, like with the 288k.

so naturally we as a whole are trying to be realistic here, and asking for them to go
after the closed caseback models, and nail them. on the notion basically of do it right
or don't bother at all. the end point really is that we want reps as close to gen as
possible, and if we have to have a closed caseback to do that, then that's what we
want. of course, the majority of us want exhibition casebacks and amazing looking
movements, but that might be too much too ask. and most people are of that thinking,
and therefore are of the thinking that the p.9000 models would probably be a disaster
with just an a7750 thrown in as is without a cover plate. and therefore we wouldn't
want to buy one, seeing how it would be nowhere near gen.

so this p.9000 thing is really either a huge hit or miss type of thing, and it all depends
really on how well the movement is done. the design is great. those new dials, the
mini-fiddy case sets, they could be insanely popular. and chances are of course that
Panerai will use the p.9000 in many upcoming models as well. but if the movement
doesn't look like the p.9000, I don't think they're going to sell very well at all.

I know that I, for one, would buy every single p.9000 rep model that came out if the
movement was believable, or at least a very good attempt. I'm a big fan of the new
look they have going on. but I probably wouldn't buy a single one if the movement
wasn't done well. I'd stick with whatever was being put out that was very close to
gen, even if it was closed caseback models.

I would really love to see a high quality 270 -- I love the horizontal power reserve indicator. Is that repable?

Hi Angus and crew-

Personally I am fine with the a7750 but can you fit a faux 3/4 plate under the rotor to at least sort of mimic the P9000? I have seen inside these cases and there seems to be plenty of room so maybe even the date wheel won't be sunken.

Pretty much any sandwich dials: 359 and 312 and even the 320 but not sure if an independant GMT hand is possible. Put some super Luminova on them and you have a winner!
