Importr, that one looks so good every time I see it. I don't wear mine with the bracelet, use a gen leather deployant or vintage tang strap instead. I would just have to remove the crown (done before), and the pushers (haven't done yet) and get at it. Maybe I'll practice on a polished case I've got lying around here.

I believe we spoke of it before, but what would you recommend (other than butter knife) to brush the model or do you know anyone on the board who does it?

Have you got yourself a gen Navi yet? If not, why not?!

You obviously love Navi's as much as I do. It'd be a sin to deny yourself!

Thanks e36,
I can only think of a butter knife as a cheap alternative to using a watch to practice on. The thing is, if you get it wrong, don't despair! It will brush out as long as you move the scouring pad (or fine emery paper) in one direction only.

Andreww what about the dome on the crystal? Is the rep more domed than the gen or the same? And do any navis come with a decent amount of (i know they all say 'light') AR or do they reflect badly?

LOL, next time I find myself with about seven thousand extra dollars, I promise you I'll treat myself! Don't hold your breath though.

Andreww - Credit Card

Machine: the Old Navis (well, certainly the Fighters did) had 'bubble' crystal. The 2005> Navis have the curved glass ala the reps

importr,
im sorry,whats a bubble crystal?

i saw a navi rep and it had a a curved crystal which reflected all kinds of light.plus with no AR it was really bad and made it look like a cheap watch.i was wondering if it would be possible to replace the crystal with a flat one like the bentley and if there are even such crystals of navi size for sale out there?

Sorry what I was referring to was the profile.

The Bubble shaped glass is similar to the profile of the Speedmaster MoonWatch. The gen Navi glass is very thick.

Whereas the Curved one on the rep is thin. I've had about three 7750 powered Navi reps and none seemed to have any AR :(

importr,
thanks for the heads up on the bubble crystal

i am considering a navi also in the near future.but i think the no AR on the curved glass is going to bug me.it didnt really bother me with my bentley tho.i remember i read some time ago there was a group AR run organized by one of our forum members.i think tonight i will do some reading and see if that was successful [smilie=book1.gif]

Cool. Let me know if you find any headway with it. As I'd like to get some glass AR'ed up too :)

Cheers

Sometimes it gets really frustrating with these reps. I get asked all the time which is the most accurate. Truth is that each model is just as close as the other, but each has its own unique flaws.

Serie Speciale - Not brushed
3-6-9 - Datewheel/Window, inaccurate slide rule (Latest versions)
12-6-9 Two tone - wrong caseback, wrong hand color

All have wrong datefont, some are closer than others however.

None have proper AR, some have light single sided coating.

Now if you are not satisfied, for $888 Josh will sell you this near perfect Serie Speciale. It says that it has AR, but I doubt its on par with the gen. Beyond that, the AD is your next stop.

Importr,

Just wanted to say what a fantastic job you did brushing your Navi! I widh I felt I could do it to my new Series Speciale rep from Joshua. I borrowed this picture and posted it over at RWG searching for someone to brush it for me and have received amy comments on how great your brush job looks. You could probably make some $ if you wanted to do more of these...Amazing how you got the case brush stroked so straight...

Great Job!
