Have to say 1665. I've built tons of 1680s and they all did little for me, but it took only one 1665 to fall in love with this watch.

Is it the top hat crystal that is off-putting or is it the nice contrast of the red on the 1665 dial that is so appealing? That's why I like the red 1680 with a T19 so much. It blends the two worlds together. :)

The 1665 caseback is pretty sweet looking.

I'm not sure really. I thought these were the end all be all vintage piece when I first started building them. After building dozens they just don't have the luster they first did. But when I got that DRSD I haven't needed or wanted another vintage rollie. It might the cyclops on the 1680, just seems to take up so much space. Cluttering up the crystal, I like the 1675 and the old DJ 15000's. so maybe it's the size of the plexi vs cyclops? The Top Hat on the 1680 is it appeal IMO and I really do like that.
Let me know which one you decide on either way buddy :)

Just an update. I got an original MBW 1665 from a member here and a 1680 from Ryan. Ill do a comparison soon. They should both be here in a few days.

My original MBW 1665 srsd came in today. I love everything about it except for the fact that the bracelet is a full link too big and I can't remove anymore links.

Any ideas how to make it smaller?

Yes, time to use the adjustments in the clasp now. You can only go so far with the links before you have to start using the clasp adjustments. My 36mm Explorer 1 is like that. I have all the links removed and the clasp is adjusted 2 holes in.

With my 1680, however, I have not needed to do any adjustments with the clasp. I don't know if that is due to the watch head being of a different size or what, but it wears very comfortably with just the links removed.

Worst case scenario is there is a permanent solution that will mangle the link you are removing. You can separate a permanent link and remove it. You need two pliers and a lot of force, but it can be done. Rolex has a tool for doing this but a set of pliers can work. The link will be completely trashed so if you ever need to replace it you'll have to reach out to other members here to see if anyone has a spare link they can give you.

That might be my only option. I'm getting a 1680 in from Ryan any day now so I'm hoping that bracelet will fit slightly better so I'll just switch the two bracelets. I'm also throwing around the idea of putting it on a nato but I dont know how much I like natos. Look very childish in my opinion.

No clue what that means. The person who sold this to me has confirmed it is an old MBW watch bought ~8 years ago.
