Lovely watch, how do you find it accuracy wise? I am really tempted by one of these but would prefer the simpler moon indicator in a stainless case which doesn’t seem to be available

Thanks! Those are aesthetically marvellous, their size while not 100% accurate is very close to the gen.

But note that the moon phase is a day-night-indicator, and the years are simplified compared to the gen and go only up until the year 2028. Power reserve is around 72 hours, so one day on the respective indicator resembles roughly 10 hours.

Those movements have proven to be very solid. They look beautiful too through the open caseback, but of course are easily distinguishable from the gen, no matter how hard they tried to mimick it.

Fantastic watch, but make sure you are ok with the size as they are BIG.

Excellent thanks for the info, really pleased to hear the movement had been reliable. Size wise I will be ok as I’m wearing a big pilot daily at the moment and prefer 44/46mm watches in general.

I’m actually hoping they out this movement into a big pilot, the toto Wolff special is my favourite IWC watch but doubt they will ever make it due to the skeleton dial.

I understand the issues with the moon phase that’s one of the reasons I prefer the other style they only do in the gold case (sorry I don’t know the names for the two different types ‍♂).

Quite happy with the year indicator too but hopefully a V2 will make that slightly better in appearance with a better font and making it look like seperate dials even when it isn’t. Should hopefully extend the years out past 2030 if they update it too

Not from the front

In all honesty only someone who really knows their stuff would spot the difference from a casual glance, they look good enough for a quick look. Main issue on the IWC 7 day PR movement in my big pilot is the standard etching of 70 hours PR on the movement, I think a lot of the functional PR movements are the same and that sort of inconsistency with the description on the rotor is a clear tell for anyone if they spot it.
