Just drop 1/4 scoop of Oxi(Vanish for the UK or OxiClean for the US) in some warm water. Put the watch in for about 5 mins, any longer seems to turn my watch a bit bronze.

Mine has had the same bath I believe (aluminum oxide if I remember right). Went from 1000 scratches (bought at huge discount) to basically no scratches and a nice patina
