Lol, hilarious. I already said I have mix of both gen and rep watches. Buying gen watches which reps are not made well is problematic for you? Lol.
I don't understand your English.

Your question in this thread is also revealing of you.........

people who can afford gens without counting pennies and pay cash wouldn't care about getting a gen whether there's a rep of it or not.
That's just not how we think.

There are reps of almost everything out there, what if that one watch that isn't repped happen to be a piece that you don't particularly like?

So whatever your situation is, I think you need to reframe your mindset, or you're just gonna waste time and energy dealing with this crap and you'll be wasting money on a gen you don't care about.

If YOU HAVE TO HAVE A NON SIMPLE NON REPABLE WATCH for the next 10 years......... then go buy yourself a skeleton QP from AP or A lange or go get that grandmaster Chime from Patek.

Hell even the skydweller could be repped one of these days.

Your wallet your choice, but since you asked, here's my answer to you.

Good luck

Thanks - for the 1st comment line, I will eventually purchase the watch I like - am just asking for suggestions here. For the 2nd - yes I like those as well but am specifically looking for Rolex in this case.

Maybe just buy a watch you like instead of asking a forum to play some king of guessing game about what you like and what you already have. You’ve been a member for over 11 years and know the hobby. Just because a watch is not well replicated now does not mean it won’t be in a year or two. This is certainly one of the more pointless threads I’ve come across here.

If you want a gen that will never probably be repped you just need to get high complications which is what many true watch lovers eventually get into anyway.

Get something like a Lange or some kind of annual/perpetual calendar.

I got myself this in gen for my recent birthday as the reps are so bad for perpetual calendars and I wanted a real perpetual calendar for myself for a long long time and this IWC I lusted for many years.

Just get the model that your mind keeps going back to and the one you spend hours online looking at pictures about. That is the one you truly want.

Cant get better than this imho

I guess the issue is that Rolex is nowadays much positioned as a must have for the upper-middle class who wants/needs to show that they have made it. To met expectations a Rolex needs to be easily recognizable and therefore easily replicable ... I am sure the whole rep-game is a challenge also for Rolex but a non-replicable Rolex wouldn't simply not work for Rolex neither ...
