the reason that gens created the swans neck in the first place ,was to improve the accuracy of actually making a positive, repeatable adjustment ! the swans neck is basically a spring that puts preassure on the adjusting screw , thereby removeing any backlash the threads clearances introduce in making an adjustment to the regulation of the watchs "speed". that is , if you turn the adjustment screw 1/10 of a turn in against the swans neck, it will move the needle 1/10 in that direction . if you loosen the screw 1/10 turn the adjusting needle will follow the screw and move 1/10 in that direction , as the swans neck presses it against the screw and removes the loose backlash from the screw threads. its all about positive ease speed and accuracy of adjustment ! ALL precision adjustable target rifle sights have this feature of spring loaded backlash removal. the functional swans neck is not about apearances , but the non functional ones are lol. hope this clears up any confusion about this

here is a suggestion, 201a in PVD, 112H with a logo + pvd

that is a pretty watch but i think the pvd will be my 4th or 5th purchase.

I think most of us struggle with the choice/importance of things like reliability, wrist accuracy, movement accuracy (appearance) and the price trade offs that come with. I think most everyone here draws the line at Canal Street junk as our dealers are head and shoulders above that with even their least expensive version. But is sure is fun obsessing and having like minded folks to share with :wink:
