My first Daytona rep was the clean v3 116500 which I swapped out the crystal for a deep crystal. IMO it was NWBIG. The movement ran like a champ with the DD4130 workhorse movement and the aesthetics was perfect. I loved the pronounced subdials and the bezel which really popped out and gave it a saturated panda look. In the new model, the 126500 has more spaced out subdials and a ring around the bezel. It’s more refined and I have just ordered the SBF 126500 from trusty time. I’m looking forward to trying it on, the successor to my all time favourite rep. One thing that I possibly dislike (possibly because I haven’t seen it in person) is the refined aspect of the subdials and bezel. I’m someone who likes “in the face” kind of watches, and the panda 116500 really stood out. Now for 116520, I owned the gen version. What I loved about this piece was the silver subdials. With the metallic bezel and the silver subdials, the entire piece felt like it was synthesised. However it felt very plain and unexciting without any contrast. The 116500 still holds the first place in my heart, and I really look forward to trying the 126500. If I really love it, I’ll sell the SBF rep and get a clean version before they stop using DD movements. Otherwise, I’ll still sell the SBF rep and buy a new 116500 panda. Now this discussion has been all about the panda version but come and make your votes for Godzilla lovers too
