Hero is having a lot of Quality/QC issues at the moment.

recently, DSN has been having the same problems too with some of the threads popping up the last few weeks.

True, but Hero refuses to deal with the problems most of the time while DSN does. On the latest Hero problem thread there were problems with dial chipping [happening way too often as confirmed by Flav and other members], and problems with the movement and case. Hero just said "it happens"... DSN would've simply asked to return for a replacement. And for the $700-$1,200 hero charges, he should be providing one hell of a rep instead of a mess.

@iPhreak: Hero is in Korea.

hero is in US, he takes his products from south korea... A bit overpriced imo... he wants 1200 for a 111h... crazy!

I know that you are looking for experienced folks to make your decision for you, but I doubt you are going to get that here. A time piece is an individual thing. You will need to check them all out yourself and decide what is best for YOU. It is you that is wearing it after all.

Dont write vac off.

My watch certainly did not cost a grand, this may be the swiss version however. I have the asian, there is a thread about it somewhere stating the differences and there very little. I think vac and a few others even say the asian is better.

As for the dial, I believe he uses DSN anyway so I think your wrong saying vacs dials arent as good.

Honestly, some of the most accurate (I'm talking scary close to the gen) PAM reps are the Ferrari lineup. Having said that, I'd never buy one because I don't like any of the Ferrari models. So "most accurate" may not be a valid measuring stick, right?

Honestly, you need to do some more research and decide on which model you're really after (or at least general style) and then we can help you from there.

And Alex is right, Vac uses DSN dials to my knowledge...

This is a very true point. We are just trying to present you with the facts and let you make your own decision.

In MY opinion, you can't beat a DSN 111h for the money, and its close enough to gen for a replica watch. There is no 1:1, or it wouldn't be a replica. DSN is the bar in quality, affordability, and customer service.

The "comfort rubber" with the "OFFICINE" and "PANERAI" print are pretty close to gen visually, but not at all similar in feel.

One nice thing about the 111h is that almost ANY strap will look nice on it. Leather, rubber, or SS.

If you really want a rubber strap, and you say you don't mind spending the money, go get a GEN rubber strap. I have found them on ebay for around $150.

Why buy rubber when you can have a custom made strap for half and just buy two straps :D

rubber is more comfortable to wear during summer time in hot and humid area...

i like leather straps on panerai's, but i can only wear them during winter time...

Like I said bud, buy the gen one, they are not super expensive and you will appreciate it much more than the rep one.

But also get a good tootall leather strap....I HIGHLY recommend them
