I have been looking for a good Rep sunglasses source lately and recently purchased a couple pairs from a shady guy that was recommended on another thread. Got QC, and recently got tracking info so all is good with the "business" side of things so far anyways. Will see what they are like once they arrive...

I have to wonder why people are worried about the protection of rep sunglasses??? Tons of people don't wear sunglasses... I know a few who never wear them. So would wearing no sunglasses not be the same as wearing "bad" rep sunglasses? I mean how can they "hurt" your eyes? What if you never usually wear sunglasses to begin with? You would be no further ahead and no further behind would you not? Even if they had a little bit of UV protection you would be ahead I would think.

If the pupil is exposed to sunlight/ bright light it grows smaller.....thus protecting the vital parts of your eye from UV damage. You would also likely squint which offers protection as well. Wearing cheap sunglasses with little to no UV protection is dangerous. The dark color of the lens will block visible light allowing the pupil to expand/grow. With no UV protection the vital parts of your eyes are fully exposed to UV...... not worth the risk. Spend the money and get real sunglasses.

Polycarbonate is opaque in the UV spectrum, transmission dropping off sharply at 400nm, even sunglasses at £2 in Primart will pass a test.

The secretary of my lads road cycling club is an optician and wears none other than dark builders safety glasses to race, replacing them when they get dirtied/bruised up from being stuffed in a bum bag.

For standard, good-enough quality reps at the best prices, go to iOffer and find the highest rated seller for the particular item you are looking for. The quality won't surpass a specialized dealer, but it's good enough for me- and I only buy the best quality watch reps after doing research on RWI. DHgate is also good, too.

Well as promised I will provide a review after receiving my glasses. We purchased from Jeff at AOOKO.
We received both pairs yesterday. I was very impressed with the packaging. It was all replicated right down to the cleaning cloths.
I tested the UV protection by holding the glasses over my watch outside in the sun. Then checking the glow of the watch in the dark. Then again without the glasses. It was night and day! The glasses kept my watch from charging up.
I find the build quality to be the same as gen. The soft satin finish on the black pair is very nice.

If you REALLY want to know where to get replica sunglasses, it's DHgate.
AliExpress doesn't have brands anymore, but DHgate have them such as Ray-Ban etc.

But as other wrote, I wouldn't buy them if you care about your eyeballs.

I don't know what everyone is so concerned about here, as long as you are getting anything but bottom dollar reps the UV protection should be fine. These days most $2 glasses at Walmart (etc) will pass UV protection, it's no longer an expensive process.

As to why people would, I'm the type of person that looses a lot of sun glasses as I don't wear them day to day, so they often get left at restaurants / friends / cottages / etc...

No, you will be far worse off. Sunglasses are dark, the pupils of your eyes open when you put on tinted lenses so absorb far more UV than naked eyes.
Honestly, a brand name pair of sunnies is less than 150 bucks for quality, Costco sell an excellent pair for 40 including a hard case so why wear rep ones and risk it?

Same here in Canada. You can buy very cheap reading glasses at any corner store.

The cheapest material you can make a lens from is CR-39 plastic. Funny enough, it also has excellent UV protection. So that's why most fake sunglasses are safe.

^That's 100% true.
I have personally tested all cheap sunglasses with UV device, and all have passed the test. ALL!
