I think that in order for Rolex to appeal and tap into a new, younger market they re-designed the classic Sub into the Sub C.
Younger buyers are less conservative, are possibly drawn more to a flashier, beefier watch on the wrist, so I can understand why Rolex did it.
That said, I just discovered the world of vintage Subs, bought a very cool one from Angus, and am really enjoying it.
My Sub C from Joshua is just not getting any wrist time anymore, compared to the vintage it looks cheap and coarse.
