Because most still feel the 16610 has the proper proportions. I personally don't care for the Sub C. Just my 0.02

Also, there is something about vintage Rolexes that gets me excited over the current offerings.

I agree. I am not a big fan of the proportions of the new Sub C. Had one on at my local AD the other day and I found the case to be too large. The "shoulders" were too wide and made the bracelet look "skinny" and not substantial enough. Again this is ONLY my 2 cents. It was a beautiful watch but not for me...

Yeah I like everything about the C subs.
- wider lugs bump up the wrist presence
- ceramic insert is more fitting than aluminum on a $8K USD watch
- maxi dial also looks more modern and has better visibility as well as lume

So overall I prefer the C's too since they updated the classic design and made it relevant for today. Rolex HAD to make these updates. There are so many homages to the older styles that the maker was compelled to do something to set their classic apart from the masses. The wider lugs against the relatively thin bracelet also makes the watch seem bigger on the wrist while keeping to the original 40mm case width.

I am personally waiting for my TC, but it would be nice to have a Sub C of the same quality. Sure the 16610 is and will always be a master piece. The problem IMHO is that some one should not be called a noob just because of what the person likes or dislikes. It is a matter of taste not of how long one has been in the hobby. I personally don't like PAMs, they are not my particular cup of tea. I believe it would not be proper on my behalf if I were to call names a person just because he likes a different style watch than I do. So to sum it all up, I think it is time to get a good quality sub C rep on par with TC subs. Do I believe it is likely to happen, well I just don't know.

I prefer the 16610 proportions but love the maxi dial and hands. So I put a maxi dial into my TC Sub. Best of both worlds.

The noob V2 sub-C is very close to being a super rep. Now they have nailed the pearl, the hand set, the case set and the bracelet. All they need to finish up is getting a better AR cyclops on the crystal and a new ceramic insert. I believe Angus said over on RG that a new insert could be a month or two away from being ready.

I think one of the reasons they will never be a popular rep is the lack of gen parts available to mod. I have a sub-c on its way to me and have been looking at ways to franken it but there is nothing to be found. I can buy gen parts for 16610 all day long. :wyliehelp:
