Do you need to manually wind it everyday because the automatic module doesn't work properly?
No, it's more complex. The movement works well, but the watch stops for lack of “charge” during the day, even if it's wound or worn. It must be a mainspring that's no longer playing its role.

It remains one of my favourite watches along with my IW389001

I am facing some issue with mine too but thankfully I can manually wind it...it bothers me but I can live with that.

Yes mine stops sometimes, the second hand always in the same position. So perhaps a service would sort it out, doesn't matter if it's fully wound or not

I wanted to look for a genuine 7750 movement with seconds at 6 but imagine they would come at a high cost

I got the IW387903 M2M to try. I didn't think much of it with the rep strap (which is absolute garbage) so I never wore it.

I put it on a 2pc military style nylon piece and instantly fell in love with the thing. Absolutely one of my favorite watches now.

the watches are great looking, but overall is the 7750 movement to big of an issue, and assuming that the 7750 we are talking about are the newer 28800 vpm? I'm looking at pilot chrono's but want a working watch at minimum. would you buy again given what you know now?

No, it's not, not the standard 7750 with secs at 9, 28.8 bph

Of course if something goes south, the cost for a service is > than for a 2824/2836.
Yes, I would but again but the golden rule for me is to upgrade to swiss 7750 if the watch is a keeper and the replica movement not performing as I wish.
Same for other movements (2892, 2824).

Missing my Gen IW371808 a lot. The investment was steep and I decided to let it go last year. Regretting it. Hard to see in the pictures but this Antoine de Saint Exupery has a brown dial and a double chrono. Very unique and special watch.
