About 2.5Kish atm, and then it has to be something that really hits all the right spots to get me interested. It used to be around 5Kish, but as sub says all this marketing and boutiques and other join our exclusive club bullshiit sort of has the opposite effect than intended in some. Sort of like a TV advert that you don't like so you quietly tell yourself you are gonna boycott the product :)
....well not as extreme, we all still love watches, it does seem however that a lot of brand repositioning is pushing the price on some while others like Rolex are happy to do absolutely nothing at all and cream it in. In many cases there is more interesting stuff in the smaller niche brands.....and reps of course!

I haven't found a gen that I wanted badly enough to pay the asking price. ;)

It's all relative to how much disposable cash you have.

Maybe and I do understand what your saying, however just because I have the funds to blow doesn't mean I over spend just because I can.

For me it comes down to if I can see the value in the product no matter what that product is, Not the amount of funds I have available to spend.

I think this is more of a percentage question.

I'd say for me a revolving door of 7 percent of your net yearly income in watches would be reasonable for the hobbyist. Ranging from 60k to 250k net income levels.

Used to be 5k. Now my woman wont let me even pay for service on them. She sincerely believes that i have a serious problem with watch addiction. I told her that it could be worse and i could be on math.

So nowdays i have to sneak around to buy 21j reps.

Haha! This sounds very familiar. My gf gets insanely irritated when I look or talk watches. We probably do have a slight addiction but at least it's healthy.

My limit on a gen would be somewhere near 15k. Not now. Someday I would love a gently used AP.

Currently, with my situation in life I would pony up 5k.

Gen watches are like buying fine art. High engineering and great beauty come at a price.

We like watches.

People will always have something "silly" they'd spend money on. For some it is purses. Some shoes. Some AV equipment. Some art. Our thing is watches.

5k for me and that's my top limit. I'd rather wait for a piece to come up 2nd hand instead of paying more than that for a new piece, most of us treat our watches with kid gloves anyway so by the time it's been used on a few special occasions it's still minty and 2nd hand cheaper too!
Every time I sell a Gen I regret it later too........must stop doing it !

i see many members care about what other people thinks,
i used to be like that , i punched my own face and i realized im here because since i can remember. i love watches , if the replica is pure quality and looks amazing for a good price , then i buy it ....................... dont care if anyone knows fake or real or whatever , as soon as i am happy , that is what matters

Personally, there would be no limit if I had the money and liked the watch. However, I don't like most extremely out of reach watches, furthest I'd go with that is a Breguet or a Patek Philippe. My parents on the other side, would not and have not spent more than $350 on gens, even though they could afford to buy 15k watches if they wanted to. Which is something that I don't really understand. They don't like replicas either, but don't appreciate gens at all. Their idea of an expensive watch is a Citizen Skyhawk.

In a few years I might go 25-30k. As of now I'm a 21 year old early in my career and most I've spent was 6k on a Jager Master Geo. I'd probably stick to somethig around that limit.

I'm eying a Zenith Captain Windsor Annual Calendar... Very, very tempted.

The most I have spent to date is approx. $4500 .. but I am considering a purchase in the $16-$18k range ... scary. I keep buying reps to keep myself distracted.

Going to sound rediculous to some, my gen limit is $1200. If I sell some reps I would rather not, I would go $2000.

I've had a few Gen Rolex's over the years, personally I'd rather stick with my reps and invest 5k in a new set of fake bobbies for the wife:rofl: I'd get more fun out of them than any Gen
