It's very strange - the Rainer boxes are made in Germany but seems to be sold only on the US Ebay site. I tried writing the seller but he doesn't even respond...

They are not made in Germany.

They are supplied via a German seller.

Rainer wood is not “solid wood” as advertised. It’s just cheap compressed cardboard (IKEA style).

I read on the gen forums that they are made in Asia.

I don't know. Maybe.....
mine appears to be solid and it certainly has a solid feel to it. Hardware is all pretty heavy duty.
