I just wanted to see which watch started your collections. Post some pics of it. Tell a story about it. Whatever.

My first purchase is quite unique... I went with a Rolex Submariner. You say...that's not unique. Well I was kind of wild and went with the LV version...

Explorer I from EL and I tracked every move from origin to destination, even tracked the flight number from the airlines website while it was in mid flight.

Story:
Been seeing this watch on TV and movies, so last trip oversea, I went hunting for a gen, but didn't purchase one at the end.
Fast forward three months and the thought of searching on ebay came to me. Found a seller from Taiwan, price is not bad, so pulled the trigger and right after paying I stumble across RWG1...

Quality wise (not accuracy), very good.

Blue two-tone Submariner. Typical noob purchase. Bought from a forum member (originally from River).
The next one was black two-tone Submariner from Joshua. Then I realized that the gold watches aren't my
thing... and the TT reps weren't that great, either.

The third watch was a CN stainless steel Submariner. I traded it and bought another (my fourth Sub) with
mods by Tommy. Yeah I know... Rolex, Rolex, Rolex... It was my first replica that felt really nice. Good
cg's and all...

Somehow the Subs didn't quite cut the mustard for me so I decided to try a vintage later on... So I bought yet
one more Sub (MBW 1680 which was a piece of art). All these watches have been traded now... and eventually I
realized that Sub isn't my "thing". I'm a slow learner. :D

First purchase

My first purchase was Trusty's Chrono Avenger A7750b1
Next impulse purchase was Puretime's Chrono Avenger Swiss 7750
It just keeps rolling on from here... next one was the Rolex Sub SS from Trusty
Rolling along.. the Omega SMP GMT (traded for a Omega DeVille)
...next the Rolex Lady DJ SS for the wife
...still rolling down along... Rolex Vintage 1665 DRSD(Sold recently)
and last two recent purchases were Geore's MBW SRSD and a TT DJ Jubilee bracelet

The platinum dialed Yatchmaster and believe it or not it is the one I never wear any more. Too dressy.

If you exclude things from the dealers here, it would be a Tag Heuer Cal 36 Chrono Quartz rep... Dad got it for me. If you include dealers here, it would be an Orange PO 4th gen from Andrew.

Stainless Submariner of course - isn't it the first for most newbies.

First ever? That would be a cheap knock off SS Submariner in Mexico years ago. That thing didn't even last for a couple of days. What a waste of $$

Now years later and after discovering this site - an Omega PO 42.5mm

A false start six or so years ago with a Tag Heuer Monaco. POS. My first after getting back into it this year was an Omega Speedmaster moonwatch.

Typically, a SS Black Sub at a Turkish market (£35 and a total waste of money) in my defense it was not for me but for a friend and he was thrilled to bits! The watch that sparked my real interest was a steel Daytona worn by my wifes workmate. It was quite good and I was amazed at how accurate it was and I made it my mission to seek out good reps. I have slowly climbed the slippery pole (anyone who has any dealings with Tim Nicolai should be very cautious) and have only recently discovered the forums. Am currently waiting for a 1016 from Andrew which I hope will take me to a new level. Just one point to add. I have an Asian 7750 pre-daytona which is an amazing movement super accurate perfect zeroing and all - pity about the dial and case! Have got a few others but am searching for a swiss manual wind Paul Newman. Anyone got one to sell?
