Navitimer.

Months later still not bought one, as the knowledge on here gave me too many reasons not to get one! :)

Thanks. I'm surprised this thread is still going......it's over twelve months old.

Nice to see the comments coming in though. If it wasn't for the PO I probably wouldn't be here. One certain individual would be thankful for that.

Keep 'em coming guys. :)

Me? When I first bought a watch from ShopNBC: Croton chrono diver; then came Invictas; then wifey bought me a gen DJ; THAT did it. Two scams later (one ok; the other a POS -- which will be profiled in Monday's wrist-check), I discovered the safe haven that is RWI.

A little of the same for me...Timex...Fossil...Invicta.. Then to my Locman (which was a huge mistake in buying because I got SO ripped of for what it was, but only learned that AFTER I found RWI 6 years later)...Then to my Tissot...

I saw John Mayer and he was wearing this watch that was to me amazing (Big Pilot 5002) And that began my quest..I found "Herc" and got a Pam and BP rip off and the Pam-joke broke the very next day after playing drums....and the BP-wanna-be is still kicking...Gave it to my brother in-law...

I found RWI shortly after that and I can't even remember how...but I know it was to find a "Panerai" of some sort...Funny, the search for a Pam and Big Piot brought me here but my LOVE for the BP is still so strong...Pams not as much..SORRY all of you, I know that's not cool..:) However, I used to be really down on Rolex and now I have more Rolex than anything!! My wife just said that..."man, for someone who really disliked rolex, you have quite a few of them now..." haha...what's that mean?!
Thanks, great thread...

Rolex SD got me into these hallowed walls of faux horology. At the time Trusty was a dealer here B.C. (before cartel) So, I ordered a "best version" SeaDweller from Andrew and was instantly hooked. About a year ago I put a genuine 2824 in it and it gets a lot of wrist time. Little did I know at the time there would a "best version" then "ultimate version" then "perfect version" then "exact copy made with with 1:1 genuine as sample" wah wah wah blah blah. I used to believe all the dealers descriptions of the watches, after all they were trusted sellers. Boy what Nooob I was (am) : )

Fun thread BB.

awesome thread, just read through the whole thing.
I stumbled here when looking for Tags...then Breitling snagged me, followed by Rolex, and then Panerai snuck up behind me and slit my throat.

Bell&Ross BR01-92 (black dial) was something I loved but I didn't realise how much it was. When I did I started looking at other options, and a guy on another forum I was on pointed me to RWG2. After plenty of noob questions I bought an IWC Portuguese 1939 from Eurotimez (which took about 3 months) but it was a good watch and did eventually arrive!

I still don't have a B&R and the B&R homages I do have I don't wear very often... I do however now have loads of Rolex and Rolex homages, despite always saying I hated Rolex because I hated the smug, 'I'm so great' people who used to wear them, and I also now have quite a few PAMs and homages, despite thinking they were a bit 'meh'...

Reps really are a great way to work out what you like :) I would have been ******* gutted to have spent £2k on a B&R and then realised a couple of months in that it's not that much of an 'everyday' watch!!

A Panerai 212 >>>

A total POS that I never was able to regulate any better than +/- 4 MINUTES /day!!....
It taught me all I needed to know about A7750 lo-beat movements!!!

Oh and BTW...After maybe a couple of hundred buys and sells, over the ensuing 5 or 6 years, guess what I bought last month...???
Yup!!! :
IMG_2386.jpg

ANOTHER lo-beat 212!!!....I must admit...They have improved the movement a tad...Now it's only +/- 2 minutes/day!!...But since I only paid under $100. for it, and it wears so frikkin' nice, I can stand to have it hanging around now!!
In fact, I'm wearing it as a daily beater, at least until my "bargain" Big Pilot from Reg arrives in a week or so....

I came here because of Marvin D. Bot. I heard about him from a famous moviestar from Bollywood, who had previously used Marv as a toilet cleaning robot in his summer residence in new delhi.
when his plunger arm went defective in a work related accident, the actor/star (whos name I can't reveal here) gave the bot to Col, as Col had a plan that he wanted to make marv into a movie star.
following clip shows marv and a few RWI staffers in a scene recorded in the RWI Control Epicenter. (this clip was later used in a famous motion picture.)
this is your chance to actually see what goes on behind the curtains here :

anyways, this amazing little fella is what brought me here. I have never regretted that for a second! -he's just a little guy who brings beers makes homemade cigars and wants to create raffles for his fellow rwi'ers. just don't ask him to fix a clogged toilet.

ooor... I came here to get a nice DSSD.....

Rolex day date. Was surfing for a rep, bought one off a questionable site but also found this place in the process.

Not a watch in particular, I think I googled "replica watch forum" :p
But it was a JLC Reverso that I was looking for in the first place...

I remember I saw an ad for the Navitimer at the mall once and I was hooked. I would marvel at them on unknown random rep sites and never had the courage to take the plunge. On a Mercedes forum one member mentioned that there was probably a forum for every thing..... And that's when it hit me and I found RWI.

My first rep was a Milgauss that I'm not happy with, but I caught a Pam bug and tool the plunge on it and a noob sub. I never knew why the hell people liked Pams on this site, but now I'm in love with Pams because of a breitleing
