What reactions do you have on different type of watches?

This. I never get comments about my watch outside of new pickups i start wearing around my friends (who are not watch people). My daytona specifically had a friend think it was cool and said something along the lines of "oh damn is that a rolex? that's super cool.... etc" and he of course asked if it was real
(I am a college student for reference) I jokingly replied that it was my dads and he had passed it on to me and that was that.On the large though, I don't see many high end horological pieces replica or otherwise in the wild because of my environment. Outside of the weekend college football games on my campus in which I saw a Omega DSOTM on a (much older than I) fellows wrist a week ago. I'd love if more people my age were into this hobby but of course gen prices keep that out of reach of the vast majority of people and being such a small hobby as it is, most people have to be introduced into watches, then into the world of reps. So theres a lot of "steps" so to speak to get someone into this world and let alone on RWI for example.
I manage a pawnshop and of course, we sell watches. Out of all the people I see on a daily basis there’s probably three regular customers that come in who are into watches and take an interest in what’s on my wrist.
