My only gen watch.
Bought this cheap eBay strap but I'm loving it. Maybe next year I'll swap the bezel for the ceramic liquid metal one at omega. They quoted me $600 and a complimentary installation, how nice right?

I once thought Omega went to the thicker case because of the co-axial escapement. However, after comparing my gen 2537 to my BP SMPc's, I see Omega made the case and bezel thicker. I guess the bezel needs also be thicker for the cer. insert.
Now that the 2531. is deemed vintage by Omega maybe they'll make a limited release of it again. Its always been and will always be my favorite model from Omega.

You are right about the SMPcs. Thicker crystal too.

However the 2220.80 (like my franken) was the first with the Co-Axial movement in it - it was indeed a little thicker than the older 2531 to accommodate the new movement.

None were as thick as any of the BP cases though...

I am obsessed with them. Every time I see one, whether here or fleabay, I want to buy it. I just don't know what I would do with 100 of them.

I know lol, don’t know what it is about them, I have an SMPc, gen 2541 and franken 2220 and I’m having to hold myself back from getting another haha
