Its no secret that I'm obsessed with Daytonas (wearing a Newman right now [emoji51]). So when the opportunity came up to get a Gen service dial I couldn't pass it up. This is meant to be used to replace big red 6263 Daytonas that comes in for service. The dial is extremely rare because it's a serif font dial (most service dials are non-serif and small red Daytona txt). While the spacing isn't quite as wide apart as the Tritium counterpart it's still got beautiful big red serif fonts.
Having had various high end rep dials in the $800-$950 range I would say that they're extremely close to the gen dials if you go to that range. However the gen dial shines more in the quality control - the plate they use is extremely strong and well finished which enhances the print quality. The welds on the feet is also beautiful (just look at it!). And the indices are highly polished and beautifully finished.
That being said, to get from a rep dial that's 9 out of 10 to a gen dial the price difference is several thousand dollars. So all in all the high grade rep dials is more than good enough!
Wow gorgeous. I'm assuming you'll slap that baby on a A7750 and have an awesome Franken.
Thank you! I always use genuine movements so in this case it'll be a Valjoux 726 converted to Rolex 727!
Just pulled the trigger on his 1680 red!
