Looking for getting my first PAM. What is the best 47mm model to buy? I saw some people suggesting PAM389, is it the best super rep? I hope I can put it on my wrist without mod anything. Thanks.

Hard to say. Depends if you like submersibles or something more dressy....or something more vintage looking etc etc

I wouldn’t worry about what’s closer to gen. they’re basically all good enough for all intents and purposes - aside from academic interest

What does "best" mean in this case?

And why did you post the same question twice?

Common sense tells me, most accurate.
Same here, but quite tired of the same question being asked over and over again.

Plus there is plenty of useful info on the forum, nothing wrong with doing own research.

Luminor is fine. I didn’t see many post specifically for 47mm models in the forum tho, so I am not really sure which one is ok to buy.

VSF PAM389 is great choice. It has accurate crystal that doesn’t have fisheye.
VSF Pam382 Bronzo is also very accurate.
both great reps, you won’t be disappointed.

Since you ask like that, I'm just going to throw in my faves: 127, 968, 389, 984.

Hello!

To begin with, I wanted to agree with the participants who have already spoken in one form or another with the idea that your question is not correct, and in other sections of the forum, you can easily run into rudeness or ridicule if you put your questions in this form without understanding how this hobby and forum works.

On the merits of the matter; I assume you are looking for a supposedly submersible (Give PAM389 as an example), which is important to narrow things down, since 47mm has both luminors and radiomirs. Also, I take as a basis that you are looking for one of the models, the probability of getting it from TD is new (I doubt that you are ready to fish m2m for months).

If so, I would suggest a quick solution, such as PAM692.

This model has its drawbacks, and quite obvious to the experienced eye, like any rep pam, but you can read more about this in the thread of this model, and / or one of my posts.(Enter "pam692" in the search bar and be sure to wear these threads in the PANERAI section)

Other than that, I can say that depending on what you prefer in style (Unless your preference is limited to "as close to gen as possible"), almost any 47mm submersible VSF will do, almost equally.

Thank you, sir. That's a decent reply. Yes, I hope my first PAM is close to gen. Is 692 your best suggestion? A lot of 47mm models mentioned in the guide or this post are not for sale anymore...

Unfortunately VSF pam692 is not that accurate. It’s made with Titanium instead of so called “Bulk Metallic Glass” which has different gray, almost yellow, color.

Everything is subjective and this is my subjective recommendation.
I have already recommended that you find and read the thread of each model that interests you in order to evaluate whether it suits you personally. If you can't, here's an example, found through a search:

https://forum.replica-watch.info/forum/panerai/8725959-vsf-pam692-new-release

https://forum.replica-watch.info/forum/panerai/9809136-something-about-pam692

It was already mentioned above that the PAM692 material does not correspond to GEN, at the same time, which is much more noticeable for me personally, the width of the inscription on the dial is not correct.
Other models may look better from the front, but have a transparent caseback on the back, which, even with a clone, will not let you forget that it is a rep, on carbotech models, for example, the holes in the lugs are not through, which is not noticeable, but it is a functional disadvantage, and for each model this balance of disadvantages and advantages is unique. Your task is to choose what suits you and what does not.

What is currently on sale and what is not, the question is more for TD than for forum participants. Judging by what people order and write, VSF submersibles, in any case, the latest releases - you can buy, but the availability of specific models needs to be checked with dealers.

In general, I explained the principle of making a decision, then your move.
