What do you think of Black Bay Bronze?

Hello,

I have been eyeing on Black Bay Bronze for a while. I just love the antique look. However, I cannot get over how big the watch is (43mm width and 15mm thickness). My wrist is not big and my preferred watch size is 38mm to 41mm. I have been checking some You Tube reviews and one reviewer said that BBB (genuine) is heavy and the crown digs into his hand. I thought BBB could be a good addition to my collection and can wear it for business casual.

Any thoughts?

I had one and currently have the Bucherer blue version and I think they are great pieces. They are big but that's "in" now so you have to kinda jump on the train to enjoy the newer pieces.

I am actually adding the Black Bay Bronze to my "gens to get later" list.

It's my favourite BB. I think the Tudor is perfectly suited to bronze, more so than just about any other watch, with the possible exception of the Zenith Pilot.

If your wrist is at least 6.5 inches you can wear it comfortably as lug to lug is 50mm, less than that might be a problem

I'm a bit in your case, i prefer max 41mm watches. I'm actually wearing a Black bay 41, and it wears big, due to the thickness that is accentuated by the straight sides. I have also tried a real BB bronze and it feels realy huge

I really hate the way the watch industry is trending towards bigger and bigger watches. I would be a huge fan of the black bay bronze at 40mm but just like a ton of new releases, the size kills it for me. I am still in love with my 36mm datejust and between 36-40 is my sweet spot.

I ordered the bronze (V6F v3). I guess I should have waited a bit longer...

Thing is, the new version might come out this year or might be delayed by a few months and come out in 2019, it depends how patient you are.

Since I've been into this hobby I always liked the BBB in brown but I held up on purchasing because lots of members claimed the printing on the dial was not the best, too flat and almost vanishing in certain lightings. Now that it appears they are going to fix this flaw I'm looking forward to the release!

My TD got back to me today. He double checked with XF and they have no plan to produce a newer version. I am not sure if this is really happening...

Tbh I trust much more what kobe24 is saying as he has been spot on with every release until now, your dealer might be interested in selling something right away so he's a in a bit of a conflict of interests...but if you don't want to wait go ahead and buy it now, you can always sell it later on m2m when the new version comes out

Thank you! I will take your word for it and will wait for the new version. I have been waiting this long and can wait longer.
