Hm. Now if someone with 600 posts was questioning the opinion of a well-respected member that has a count of 7500+ posts I'd take it a bit better. But this seems a bit out of touch and out of place, when your post count is a grand 61 as of this morning. What @slaughterer62 was trying to say in effect, and I second that, is try a bit harder yourself. Why not buy a gold plated timepiece and see for yourself? The maybe you can create a thread and share your personal experiences with the gold plating. I see no problem in this. The fact that you once sent something for modding to someone doesn't give you the licence to be rude; last time I checked my book the said modder was not overcharging for anything, he more seems to be doing it for the sake of learning and helping other fellow members here if his prices are anything to go by.
And finally, this thread's is meant for people to post their loved timepieces, there are other ways of finding answers to your questions: 1. read more; 2. buy more; 3. create a specific thread and ask specific questions; 4. etc.
