Thanks Webster...I try to listen to everything. Liking it is another story lol...
For instance, I think Jay-z and kenye are atrocities to my ears, but I would never condemn anyone for musical taste.
I listen to Classic Vinyl, and Rewind when i'm in the car.
I'm learning to use the mp3 player I have had in plastic since Christmas lol..
People listen to music for different reasons, and I think the two of us appreciate that.
I for example love classic rock, I'm a big LZ fan, love Clapton, Grand Funk, Skynyrd, etc.. but it can get very boring to me depending on my mood.
I'm a drummer and also play the organ (hammond b3) If my mood is classic rock, I'm in the organ mood, but if I am hyper and feel like beating the drums then I am listening to Slayer or Metallica (which is how I learned to play to begin with).
In addition to these I will also play a little rap. I'm not a big rap fan but it I can appreciate some of the intricacies in "certain" songs because I am also an amateur sound engineer. The anticipation is different in rap than in rock. Transitions far more cool in rap than in rock and I get a lot of build up ideas from rap that create anticipation from whatever crowd that I might be playing in front of that week.
Ask me any of the lyrics to my classic, gospel, rock or rap songs and I could not tell you, I am only here to play or mix to make you sound good, I leave singing to someone else. lol.
