All this computer crap and I can't send a simple $150.00 to someone in Singapore. Just nutty. What ever happened to buyer beware and a fool and his money. AHHHH. If I want to throw my mney away WU should be more than happy to do it. Why don't these dealers just start to take Visa or MC????? 3-5% charge for the use...who cares. For the hassle that is other payment options, who cares.
...I just did a WU a week ago to Singapore and the fee was $22.00. I don't get why you had to pay $27.00, that's a little crazy. WU offices are all franchised and the one here is owned by a nice couple and they never ask any questions, just fax the order to Andrew's WU agent and that's it...sorry to hear about your problem but I'm with you all the way on the "buyer beware", a person should be able to send money to whoever and however...
WU to Singapore cost more than WU to Gangzhou. Don't ask me why but it is about $10 more. You can at least use WU online to calculate the fee prior to walking in the store and paying cash. It is $14 from where I am for Gangzhoue and $25 for Singapore.
If you have an American Express go with Moneybookers. The charge is about 1%. You are limited in the amount purchased at first with MB, to about $322 per 60 days. They then increase the amount the more you utilize their service. MB against a credit card is not billed as a cash advance but rather a purchase.
Both Josh and Andrew take MB.
