First time post here!
After a pretty bad and expensive experience with a certain “dealer” that claimed to be a trusted dealer on here.
I decided to delve a bit deeper and find a proper TD. Just had this lovely Submariner delivered from @sead1999 what a great experience and I’ll definitely be ordering more from him in the future!
I look forward to being part of the community!

For sure, it was a chap called Gopal, he runs a website called wowwatches and a Facebook group of the same name. On his site he proclaims he’s a TD on this forum.

What was the problem exactly? My guess is he sent you a Dhgate shitter for the price of a high end rep (or even more).

It’s been a costly mistake. Thankfully after dealing with a proper dealer faith is restored!

Yeah. He appeared to be legit, well as far as can be.
It’s just unfortunate that in my ignorance I lost out on £500…
I don’t know what he sent, it wasn’t VSF as claimed didn’t look great. the movement broke on the second day then no comms or help with rectifying

Well, for it's worth, I can relate... When for the first the idea came up to buy a rep, I was looking at similar sides.

I got extremely lucky and found this community before I made the same mistake.

Unfortunately it seems easy to do! I’m just happy I found this forum for the second one and have had a smooth transaction with Supermirrors!
Do you have any advice on caring for the watch, servicing, getting it oiled etc. I’m used to gen and have Tudors, longines etc which is a bit easier

There are many contributions to your question.
you just have to read AND do some searching. It is not welcomed here to be fed with a golden spoon.

Everyone seems to have a very different opinion on this. Some get it serviced right away after receiving it from the dealer, others just wait until it acts up or breaks. I'm in the latter camp. We have quite a few experienced (with reps) watchsmiths and modders who can service or repair your watch. It's an entire "sub culture" eco system. It's quite wonderful..
