Guys, to end all speculations, yes schumi did sell the watch to me, and I wanted to wait till it arrives to speak up.
I do not agree with the bashing of the watch or schumi on a personal level, but I do agree that he could have handled questions from pmlico and the rest better, the questions started off as decent and fielded out of curiosity and interest. I have also told schumi to leave his personal life and wealth status out from his posts, as the information provided by schumi should have been relevant and on track.
One thing which I will do differently, is that if I wish to sell this watch, I would provide my assessment of the value of the watch based on prices of the parts and labor, as well as the rarity and value of the parts at the point of selling. The value of the watch would ultimately be determined by the market demand.
As for whether the watch is hideous, the answer would be both yes and no, depending on who you ask. But what's most importantly, ultimately, is that like any other watch, the wearer appreciates it.
The watch itself is not perfect, and I actually purchased it to modify it to my liking. Our expectations, preferences and personalities are all different. While it's easy to tread on someone while he's down, or "incarcerated" in this case, schumi has already been punished enough already. It makes no sense to continue bashing him. I do not agree with the joe777 persona as well and has told schumi the same.
Let's give him a chance to learn instead of condemning him. Maybe he needs to build himself a lounge to chill out and invite everyone there for a drink.

Thank you for sharing that, I hope the watch brings you much joy. Schumi will have a lot of work to do, to get back his credibility. But as with most things if you put in the work in the right way it can be rewarded. Personas are OK when posts are made in jest. That was not the case here, it was highly offensive.
It's a funny one the guy seems pissed that new members are interacting with him as if time on the forum elevates you towards the gods. I don't look at join date or post count but rather what is written and I've had great interactions with both pimlico and yllekp in the last few weeks both green in terms of time served but a hell of a lor more knowledgeable than me

I agree that even though schumi is a rich and successful person, i do believe more members here are as well. Preferring to spend money on other things and saving on watch buying. The thing is, i believe he might have been extremely pissed off of all the losers who like to go lowballing for a dime and the people who just like to throll other people's sales threads. This is emotions.
If you run a jewellery store and sold watches of 1-5k and some idiots would come in your store and ask you in a serious way to buy it for a few dollars. You would start give polite answers first and later you would tell them to piss off and eventually throw them out.
The only error i see is that schumi let his emotions go wild and not close the door by closing the sales thread; lesson learned for him.

Another very important point. BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER! There are a lot of watches I don't find attractive but its not my business to tell people their watch looks like sheet or they are stupid to spend so much money ! Its what they like and its thier money.
I happen to like my Dodge Durango, My Friend has a Chevy Tahoe... I don't like it at all. Would I ever tell him his car is boring and ugly..Hell no, NEVER.
