Yeah, I'd do that.
I'd also wear my dress shirt done up at the neck without a tie on, wear my loafers without any socks on, and roll up the sleeves of my jacket.

but it is inside the cuff,with a opening
to show the dial.

When on the slopes I wear a watch over the sleeve of my mid-layers, under my shell. If it's under all the layers it's too difficult to expose with my gloves on.

Interstingly, the watch is a T-Touch and the bracelet has an extension, so it's easily done.

No poll response for "sometimes," as over a wet suit sleeve. Bracelet extensions and extra long straps exist for practical reasons. Tool watches and all that?

Oh Nooo! I just realized that I am wearing my watch over my sleeve. All day I will be outdoors today so I put on Long Johns (actually, in China they don't heat the buildings so it is normal to wear long johns every day); but, I am dressing less formally today. I am still wearing a tie; but, I am wearing a less formal coat.

As such, I put my watch on over my long johns and under the sleeve of my shirt. So, yes, in a manner I have done this.

I know there was a clothing designer that came out with a dress shirt that was made to have your watch in the cuff of your sleeve. Been trying to find where I saw that but, that was several years back. If I find it, I'll post a pic here.
