Mother F'er is it humid, look I'm no dope I know I moved to a humid state but WTF its winter I didn't expect this high humidity at this time of year. In the summer sure I expect it but not now. F me, I'm starting to have second and third thoughts about this shit. I mean if I think its humid now I'm gonna be dying come mid summer. I came here to get away from the cold and snow cause I hate that shit but high humidity isn't so great either. I know I shouldn't complain but its hard not to.

Apprentley I also moved to a state with a drug abuse epidemic and getting a script for anything but Motrin is close to imposdible because if you need to see a doctor here they think your a drug addict, its crazy and its really pissing me off. You need blood pressure medication?? Oh you must be a drug addict. F'ing bullshit.

OK, F this I'm about at my wits end and I'm not F'ing kidding. Were sitting in our living room relaxing watching tv when I see something moving, I look over and there's a giant F'ing cockroach on my F'ing wall, WTF a cockroach?? I kill the thing but now I'm freaking out. Listen, I will Not live with bugs especially those F'ing things. We are very clean, neat, and organized people. I can Not deal with this, I'm going outta my F'ing mind over here.

Im not talking about some little fly or bug, no, this mother was big really F'ing big, so big I was actually scared. That may sound silly but this thing was no joke. I have never seen any bug this big and now I think their everywhere. It was just the one but to me if there's one there's more right?? I'm gonna be up all night now. I mean I'm not gonna be able to sleep cause now I'm F'ing stressed. F this, F this, and F this.

Canada, but in Hungary... for now
Sorry you're going through all that, mate. Make sure you never move to Taiwan! Massive amount of humidity all year round and cockroaches the size of mice! And you're correct, where there's one, there's usually a family. Get some of those poison traps and try to relax.
Good luck, mate!

When they get that big we call them Palmetto bugs. It has a nicer ring to it. Sounds like you just aren't ready to live in the tropics. Bugs are a way of life. Either get an exterminator to come in once a month or learn to be a little more tolerant on the native wildlife. A gallon of Ortho Home Defense from Walmart or Home Depot will keep most of them at bay. You'll also find ants are forever trying to invade your house and moles will be eating you grass. Assuming your trailer park has grass. Oh yeah, just wait till mosquitoes start to show up during the rainy season.

Now, as for your next problem with oxy or hydrocodeine, etc. The Feds (DEA) just reclassified that and several other drugs as Schedule 1 or whatever is higher and now it's very difficult to get since your doctor has to see you each time and you must take a prescription physically from your doctor's office to the pharmacy. No more call ins. Them's new Federal rules. It has nothing to do with Florida.

And as to the weather, you're unfortunately on the hotter side of the State. Since the prevailing winds in Florida are from the South East, you get all the heat from the circulation over inland Florida about 70% of the time. Tampa St Pete is usually a few degrees hotter than where I am even though you are further North.

One good thing about cockroaches is they don't bite, unlike coral snakes, alligators, sharks, mosquitoes, bears, panthers, bedbugs, fire ants, and assorted other Florida wildlife. Oh yeah, don't forget the brown recluse spiders. Don't put your hands or feet in any dark places. Those little devils have a bite that will rot your skin off and it's easy to lose a finger. Don't worry so much about the raccoons and possums unless they come at you. That usually means they are carrying rabies.

Welcome to Florida!

Paner, lol, don't think I'll be moving to Taiwan any time soon and damn sounds like you have giant bugs there, thats some scary shit. I had a exterminator go over the whole place before we moved in just to be sure and he said everything looked good but I told him to spray anyway just to be sure, anyway thanks for your post.

KBH, yea someone mentuoned Palmetto bugs to me but I had no idea WTF they were talking about cause I never heard of that before. A neighbor said watch out for the Palmetto bugs and laughed abit, I just figured she was kidding and I never thought anything of it, now I see what she meant. I have seen those little ants but only outside so far. I already hired an exterminator and I also bought every product I could find at Home Depot since I saw that F'ing bug on steroids. Lmao, trailer park your crazy man, but that was funny.

I was just shocked at how the doctors here think everyone is a drug addict. I never experienced that before but its my understanding this state has a big abuse problem. I didn't know blood pressure medication made me look suspect, lol, I don't take that other stuff so its not a problem for me ya dope.

When I see the state map on the news weather I always look at where your at and the temp there and I have noticed it was warmer here some days and wondered why but now you explained it. Thanks man now it makes sense.

I don't want to hear about any other creatures, lol, as long as their outside I don't care, but nothing is living in my home F that its war on the bugs.

You guys who live on the east coast have a different way of life than we have on the left coast.

I have visited Florida maybe a dozen times, but never in the summer. I could never get accustomed to the humidity, sub. You have my support.

You can always move out here. Low humidity=small bugs. Well, there are rattlers...

No hurricanes, though. :D

Steelfish, lmao, but please no. Happy holidays to you and your family. I haven't heard from you in awhile nice to see you.

Tommy, moving out there has always interested me and if things keep up at this rate I may just do it. Let me put it to you this way, its so F'ing humid I can barley smoke a cigarette because the tobacco is so humid, its insane, and I'm not kidding about that.

About the drug problem. Up until a couple of years ago Florida had "Pain Clinics" popping up on every corner it seemed. We had one at the end of our street, in a very nice community. You'd see license plates from Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama in the parking lot all the time. Fortunately, the State attorney general cracked down on that shit and pretty much closed them all down.

And the reason I know about the codeine is my wife developed a chronic cough a couple of years ago and has had a prescription for hydrocodeine cough syrup which has suddenly become extremely difficult to get prescriptions filled. Even with a scrip she can't find a pharmacy that stocks it any more. But, for sure, I can't imagine any doctor getting worked up over blood pressure meds. I think 50% of the population are on them.

And this weather is unseasonably warm. Not typical of our Florida winters. So, despite all the problems, I hope you and yours are having a great Christmas. Santa Claus came last night, in between the lightning and rainstorms, and left a bunch of goodies under our tree and the whole family will be over shortly to tear into them.

Merry Christmas!

Sub, do what KB said and get some of that home defense. It works really well up to three months. We have roaches and earwigs in California but spray that stuff liberally and it will get rid of them, I even spray it in the house. But you are right, if there is one big roach there a probably dozens hiding underneath somewhere or within the walls. Anyway happy roach hunting and Merry Christmas to you.

KBH, yea I did some reading about the problems here. I just had no idea of it before we came here. Have a great holiday.

TB, lol, you did say that and you might be right. I'm really trying to make the best of it but things are very different here and I'm not big on change. I just don't know if this is gonna work for me. One more thing goes as not expected and I'm outta here.

Cybee, I'm trying not to think about it but yes this entire place has been sprayed and resprayed. I'm literally breathing it like air.
