Thank you this is a great post for beginners for learning how to service movements. I dont have all the tools but planning on buying in bits and bobs

Merica!
Glad I found this thread... just got a GMF 124300 with the 3230 movement and I can hear the Rotor slapping around in there.

Nice amplitude on the VS!

Yeah, I'm experimenting with new swiss mainsprings and lower viscosity oils and looks like it works for those Chinese movements. Improved the amp from 260-280 to 285-315

The packaging of the mainsprings looks similar to what I get from Startime. I don't know if what I get from them is something new or not.
Lower viscosity oils is interesting. Sounds like you're onto something!

these mainsprings are made by generale ressorts SA… what did you use before? I think these one are the same of the genuine on 3135, and a little stronger on 2824 movements. But maybe it’s just an impression, they are the same size

Yes they are i believe. Most of the time spring was reused but the amp went down after service on some of the pieces. Now goes up so must be combination of spring and new oil. I need to investigate further

I tried several times to use low viscosity oils, I mean lower than 9010, on escapement wheel .. but never had significant results. Maybe using 9030 or something like that is useful in incabloc systems. I noticed using these low viscosity oils in standard wheels , with normal radial shake and standard jewels, oil slides away from the pivots toward the axle of the wheel after few weeks. (Tried on 2824 and 2892). I don’t think pivots lubrication can influence a lot amplitude. rather it is pallet lubrication and eplilamage which do… that’s my little experience with this

I don't believe Chinese people use "advanced" oils and i question if they use expensive epiliame at all... :)

Thanks for the insight ! I'll be experimenting more with this :)
