Hey anyone have any success with the App for the IPhone that gives watch accuracy (didn't want to post the name in case it is against forum rules). But it says my CrPO is about +15 secs/day and my Speedmaster ST-19 is about -4 secs/day. Both seem pretty right from my amateur comparisons.

I don't believe this is against the rules unless you are promoting an app you are involved with or trying to get revenue from it. I'd this app brings added value to the community and members can benefit from an additional tool which can elevate the hobby might not be questionable. Maybe you can explain the value, the need, and the benefits of this app

Oh Im not benefiting. I just was wondering one night how one determines accuracy and spent some time googling, decided to pay for the app - Hairspring on the IPhone. It uses the microphone of the phone and after syncing gives an accuracy. I may have paid 5 bucks for a fake but it seems right. My CrPO does seem to be "fast about 15 seconds a day and my Seagull Speedy seems to be slow about 4. I was just curious to see if anyone else used it and if it actually was "accurate" compared to real horological instruments.

Im using kello and it helps to a certain point. I cross checked with manual 24 hour reading for a few days and it is pretty accurate! All you need is a real quiet room and let the app do its job.

Is kello free? If so I'd compare it to hairspring - wonder if they align in accuracy.

Canada, but in Hungary... for now
No, Kello isn't free and didn't work for me.
It worked fine on my iPhone 4, but I couldn't get it to work on my 5 or now with my 5s. I've tried soooo many different headphones and even a professional mic and got nothing.

I've played with the Android one, which I've mentioned elsewhere. But in practice, I find the results, pro timegrapher or an app, are not the same as you get on your wrist. They're OK for the first settings, but really, wearing the watch and using very fine tweaks when you find out the practical results over 24hours seem the best solution for me.

Actual real life accuracy will depend on the activities of the owner, since the movement will have different +\- in different positions. In other words, if you wear it to office one day, and wear it for some sports the other, you may have different accuracy result.

Therefore movements are regulated to 5-6 positions so as to be as acurate as possible and to offset the differences between the positions, which you can do with a timegrapher.

Indeed, that's the point!

Tried Kello today. Used an iPhone6 (8.3) and de standard Apple In-Ear headphones. Placed the microphone direct unterneath the case back.

Works pretty well for me.
