Probably on my 10th watch from Li & Lana now in the past year.

Anyone know the protocol when I send a watch back to Jtime for warranty, but it is lost on the way back to him?

I was just reimbursed by Canada Post for the most expensive tracking shipping I paid (over $100) after they looked into it and determined it in fact is lost.

I get this is not Amazon. I say that to everyone. He explained to me the exact way to send it back to him, which I followed to a T listing the item as a gift worth less than $10; so that is all I was reimbursed.

Please do not tell me I should have gotten it fixed locally. If there is a warranty, and the watch is defective, as a consumer we are entitled to use it free of risk if we are willing to be patient of course.

I guess I should add, that I have been VERY patient. I shipped the watch back over 4 months ago.

Unfortunately the first mistake you made was sending the watch back. It's basically a black hole in shipping. Always best to have your watches fixed locally or from one of the folks on here.

So they shouldn't even list a warranty then is what you are saying if the risk is to the consumer?

They will honor the warranty. But it's on you to get the watch to them. It's an evaluation of risk versus reward. Personally, I've never sent anything back since I know it will most likely get lost. Sometimes the TD will give you a discount on your next purchase. This is all part of dealing with counterfeit watches.

I hit the ground running when it comes to the rep game this last year. Hopefully Li and Lana will be empathetic to my cause as a valued customer. He did say "China post rarely gets packages lost in fact". Hoping for the best. Obviously I will be buying more watches.

thankyou, this is what i thought and have read previously, yet both Geektime and a lot of other members have told me to follow geektime advice and post it back to china, even though he sent me the wrong watch (two of the same watch).

How many of you people who are yelling about not sending a watch back to China have had problems with it DIRECTLY?

The internet is full of junk.
I remember at the beginning of my rep time, when everyone advised me not to order watches from Switzerland because the Swiss customs were so strict and dangerous. I was appreciatively praised for being very courageous in ordering directly to Switzerland. Now I've lost 2 packages and have received around 120 since then. I think the rate speaks for itself.

I got a DOA BTF Daytona and sent it back to Li. He sent a replacement before I even got my Daytona in the mail, but that may have something to do with my customer status.

In any case, the return worked smoothly.
But it has to be said that I have sent something to Li 3 times so far. 1x a replica, and 2x legal stuff.

The one legal, normal correctly declared garment took 5 months.
The clock as another example, about 50 days.

So make your own experiences first and don't believe people in internet forums that are sometimes full of shit :)

PS:

Of course it is ideal if you can have it repaired on site if there is a problem. It's usually a rather small one.

I dont get You sorry
yea it sucks, I wish I didn't wait 5 months just to be told the watch was lost in transport. I paid for the most expensive tracking shipping from Canada Post (the national post here) which I was reimbursed for, but because I followed the instructions to say it was a gift worth less than $10 that was all I got. I got half the value of the watch in credit from Li to buy a new watch, but I definitely wish I would have saved the time and money and just went local.

Replica oblivion…
I sent my Patek 5726 back from Australia to Intime in China recently. It took a while ( covid lockdown delays ) but it arrived safely with no issues. Sent via standard Australia post service and declared as a bracelet for repair / return.

It’s basically the same risk as when the parcel
Is sent from China to your destination in the 1st place. Use the standard postal service, low to medium value, avoid declaring as “Watch” and make sure it’s packed well to avoid water or handling damage. Always ensure the TD gives you a contact phone number to put on the parcel…. It helps with the local China post in case there is an issue with the address translation.

Good luck peeps…
