its harder to get a naked warranty card and they are worth more. depends on the AD and if he's your friend or not. i see a flipper that constantly has naked cards. he's always more than double.

its so you can have your name on it if you wanted.

LOL, you guys crack me up with your answers. However, I bought a warranty card from Puretime about a year ago. I bought a gen from a grey market dealer (in case you guys don't know they typically do not come with cards). The dealer I got it from had included his own card and warranty. The watch I bought was a mint 116610LN and even had some stickers still on it, never worn. I wanted a card, just to have so I took a chance. It looks great and I cannot tell it apart from the real card I have for another watch. If you want one that looks real and all the anti-forgery precautions on it, I can tell you Puretime's are great.

I plan on keeping this watch forever and it might be silly but I just wanted a card. By the way, the white price hangtags are another thing that you won't get on the grey market. There are no good sources for those, they all stink so I have to learn to live without it.

I wouldn't say "they don't typically come with a card", or with tags. I've bought many gens at grey market dealers and most are full set. You just have to buy from the right dealers and be willing to pay for the full set

It is more common for them to come with a card then not to if they Are not vintage. A new watch with no card Will be alot harder to sell as everyone knows that Rolex watches Are worth alot now. And especielly when u have a cert. I have bought many gens both in vintage and newer ones. I have once owned a 116508 without cert and it was a pain in the ass to sell it since everyone was questioning why such a new model is missing its card. Which make ppl think it might be stolen or something

When someone purchases a Rolex overseas and bring it home wearing just the watch, to get away from Customs taxes if an officer find the full set inside his/her luggage...
So, a few years later when the legit owner of the gen decides to sell it, he/she realizes that should have kept at least the card!

It´s a common story in many countries that charges absurd taxes to luxury items...
You said that like that's an excuse. Thats fraud if you substitute a fake card to get a higher price

It is not uncommon to not get a card from the grey market for a couple of reasons. First, the buyer doesn't want it to get back to Rolex that they are flipping these as they are likely to get skipped over on the waiting list if this comes out. With the shortage Rolex has been playing favorites on who they will sell to. Second, Rolex has gotten ADs in trouble before for "selling watches out the back door." This is when they group watches together and sell them in bulk to a grey market dealer. The grey market dealer doesn't care because the current market will earn him well over suggested retail. The AD likes it too because they can group that gold Daytona no one is coming in off the street to buy with more easily movable watches. When this happens the AD does not include a card in the sale. Could you imagine looking at some of these online and seeing the same person's name, or same dealers name on multiple watches. It is of course frowned upon so cards are not included a lot of times on the grey market.

This issue is widely discussed on Rolex forums.
