Honeybase, you need to change your expectations for reps.

First, expect that straps, bracelets, and other parts like that might not meet your expectations. They may break but at least it's pretty easy to swap a rubber strap.

Second, a $300 rep is not going to out perform a $300 Seiko. They just don't put the quality control into reps that Seiko does. I'm sure Seikos are built in nice clean factories by skilled workers and then QC'd by another worker before being boxed.

Third, you may have to do a little work on your rep - open case back, see why the watch is noisy (maybe normal depending on the movement). I once found a watch with movement clamps installed upside down. The movement and dial were moving around a little. I reversed the clamps and the watch was perfect. You may have to add case back gasket or grease the ones that are there to have a chance of waterproofness. I've had reps that shipped with out a gasket and every rep so far didn't have the back on very tight. Even then there is no guarantee that the watch is waterproof unless you have the watch tested.

Fourth, what everybody else said about trusted dealers and warranties. For $300 you probably should have gotten a rep with a swiss movement. Our TDs will warranty a watch for a short amount of time but after that figure on sorting out any problems with your watch maker. And it's easier than sending your watch back to China.

Fifth, this dealer did offer to fix your watch. What more do you want? You are the one that chose to buy illegal goods from China. If you want your illegal watch repaired under warranty, then send it back to them.
