I really want an Asian SS Datejust with Roman Numerals but am having a hard time finding a simple dial that I like.

I fell in love with this model from WatchEden:

http://www.watcheden.biz/rolex-date...w-version-blue-roman-marking-i-19114-p-1.html

They have great quality watches but I am concerned that the blue hands and numbers just shout "FAKE" because I have not seen a gen with similar hands/dial.

What do you think, should I get it? Thanks

Thanks

Hi, Big!

IMHO, I think you should get it. As some members will tell you, WatchEden sells good products for the price but they're usually fantasy watches. I'd buy it (1). because I'd like it, and (2). few "civilians" would be able to tell if it's fake. Only people here or a real Rolex fan would be able to tell. You like it? You buy it, and enjoy it, Big!

Too Many Dials

I guess you guys are right. There are so many gen and after-market dials out there that it would be difficult for somebody to tell it is a rep.

Thanks

Most people think all Rolex's are fake anyway. Anyone who knows Rolex at all will be abble to spot it as a fake due to the blue hands and numerals (pretty sure Rolex never made those) and the fact that it is a 21J movement will make it "tickier" than it should be. Many will tell you it is impossible to tell when on the wrist of another person. I agree - until that person holds still and I'm within 5 feet. Then I can spot the slow beat movement.

But basically, it's a really nice watch cheap. If you like it, then buy it and wear it well.

That's why I only go for vintages and frankens with gen dials and cases if possible. Nobody will call you out on a vintage.
