Can you ELI5 on this comment? You have made it a few times, and I have stared at pictures but would really like a confirmation for my education. Thanks in advance.
Essentially, the jewel that is supposed to be used for the escape wheel on the movement as @grillbrill posted a lovely gen picture of, is of a closed cap jewel.

For whatever reason the factory initially didn't use the closed jewel for the clone 240 movement, they used a smaller basic jewel that while works is out of place.

What annoys me, is the clone 240 could have totally used the correct jewel the first time round, because the clone 324 uses the correct style closed escape jewel. And it had been out in the market for quite some time.

Yes they did, the free sprung balance most notably. I have a regular 5712 v2 and the movement in my watch is highly stable and accurate
My experience is different - I have the same watch and mine suffer from material degradation - the keyless is made of soft metal that is already damaged and will eventually fail and the gear train connected to the rotor has flaws that will eventually make the rotor useless. Other than that it keeps good and accurate time

The 5712 being one of my all time favourite watch I would definitely consider getting a better movement when prices more sensibly or wait until PPF upgrade the watch

That's a shame, but considering the price of buying just the movement itself is pretty cheap I guess it's not too bad but I definitely would love to buy one of these upgraded movements for like 1500$

I had my movement serviced so hopefully I can get a few years out of it , my automatic winding is rather effective but it is all different experiences at the end of the day. You are definitely right about the fact there is a lot of things that could be improved especially if this "upgrade" hasn't fixed the issues you mentioned above.
