VSF VS3135 Submariner Comparison Against the Gen

They did last time I went on the VSF factory tour. It was located in the main staff cafeteria. I’m not sure if it’s open currently though, due to the recent government interventions.

That’s great to hear, they’re the real Hero’s of the rep world. Imagine the QC errors if VSF’s employees were not properly caffeinated!

In the main thread about the raids, one of the TDs allegedly said that the latest "reopening" of VSF is nothing more than moving the remaining, unaffected stock of 116010 Subs. As of now, I don't think it has been confirmed that they resumed production.

I just bought a VS 116610LV from a TD who I never used before and who had few left in stock. Beside the whole purchasing experience which was, let's say, different from what I had been used to, what surprised me the most was that he shipped the watch without the classic VS shipping plastic case.
When I asked him why, the TD said that VS stopped using those cases more than three months ago: is it true?

Lovely sharp SEL's on that and a good rehaut. This looks great. How does it feel? The bezel, screwing the crown, winding, the glidelock?

..all looks great apart from the distortion on the edge of the cyclops. Gen crystal in that and you've got a watch.

It honestly looks and feels very gen like. I own a couple of gens and the quality is 90% of the Swiss giant. The LEC on the crystal is a slight giveaway under a loupe. The rest of it though, even under magnification, is great. It’s the best rep I have handled personally. Bezel moves smoothly and sounds just like the gen. The crown feels just like the gen, movement is buttery smooth when winding. Moving the stem to date change and then to time change isn’t as solid as a gen but that’s where the other 10% of quality comes in I’d say. The glidelock is great also. Really wish I had this on my DD!
As for the cyclops, I will eventually install a gen Crystal. Fixes the LEC at the same time! (Not that its an issue at all but personal nitpicks)
Overall, quite amazed on the quality of these subs. It’s gotten to a point for me, at least, that buying the gen isn’t worth it. Just hoping VSF reopen as I’d like to buy more!

Also forgot to mention, the factory spring bars for the bracelet aren’t the best. Worth upgrading to better quality ones!
