I've been eying the 979 a lot lately. I like the white indices and I love "Marina Militare" on the dial which the 979 has.

But I kind of struggle with ANOTHER all Carbotech model so I held off. Now I'm torn between trying one of these 2 models.

I like the GMT feature and the red gmt hand (so far based on what I can tell). I think it looks sharp.

I would just love to see how accurate these dials are because the 979 has a sharp dial too.




Id love to see these side by side. The vsf versions.

Problem with the 979 is that it shouldn’t be white, it should be grey, I had one on in an AD and it’s quite different and obvious

Just goes to show how little we see them. How little I see them. I have to hit the local ad here more often. Now it's just a plain pain in the azz with covid too though.

How's the dial perform in person vs gen based on what you saw?

If the dial on the VSF 979 is off to the same degree that it's off (based on these pics) on the gen sail cloth dials that would be a shame.

It’s noticible for sure, the dial print in the rep is bolder too.

Go for the 979, the dial of the 1039 is far worse. Even with no gen. comparison, the 1039 dial looks weird. The 979 dial looks way better and with no gen. to hand it looks like gen.

from what I can tell the VSF dial looks too uniform compared to the "unique" nature of the gen...I do hope VSF cleans it up (or dirties it up...) so it doesnt look so mass produced....and then Id love to see the 1036 (I swear this wasnt even on my PAM radar a couple days ago).

I am almost sure that this is the same movt., Which is put on 441, 438, 719, 320 and other GMT. The base clone p.9000 modified by them for this function will be marked as p.9011.

Wow you're right. You can see the branding glued on or sticking on the dial. It looks like little vinyl stickers. It looks a little cheap in this Pic.

Interested to see a wrist shot to see how noticeable it is in real life.

my first VSF skip and not buying this year a shame i wanted to try it out but i do not think its worth even to flip after a few wears........gold tech is the next purchase for me

Just got it today and I’d have to say, not bad at all for the first attempt, don’t hesitate fellows, looks great and classy in person.
Here is a pic next to a bright red bracelet, and you can see red is spot on, and the texture is not bad at all. Remember, it is sail cloth is made out of, and sails wear out differently.

It's available on the site of many TD, but first keep in contact with them and ask for availability. Sites are rarely updated. If I had to bet I believe you will find it.
But the moon is red, not pink
