Didn't they move away from DD and now using a worse factory for 4131?

They’re not using the Dandong movement but I’m not sure what the factory is liked that makes their 4131. I can say that I haven’t seen anyone complaining about getting a bad one yet. That’s a positive indicator because when people the world over get a dud of any watch they seem to join RWI and try to smear the TD’s and the company that made the watch. I haven’t seen anything like that.
Only Time will tell.
That's why I am really monitoring those posts, the first-hand quality control threads. And if they don't reflect real issues, a BBQ roast party! Win-win!
I prefer VSF if we are talking about subs but better do your research and understand what u are buying. I have a Clean DJ and so happy with it. Anyway, VSF and Clean both are top

I would’ve agreed with you before I got my vsf back from my watchsmith. Now I’m convinced @watchservicesny does.

I gotta chime in here. I have a VSF and I hate it. Here is why, the bezel action moves WAY TOO EASY, it will not stay put. When I look down the damn thing has almost always rotated at least 5 minutes. Second, the movement. I have had it for a year and it went from +1 per day to +50 per day. Yeah, I could have it serviced, but I hate wearing it because of the bezel anyway so probably will just get another model.
I'd try Clean, it has to be better than the VSF I have.

IMHO CF are no better than VSF, just dearer, in actual fact I prefer VSF.
Mechanical watches are like exotic classic cars they need "tuning".
Often this is because of being chucked from pillar to post on their journey from factory to your door by the carriers.

I am glad you got luckier than me my friend. Mine is a S39 serial and I am very disappointed.
Out of the box, the VSF is overall better, I've got two (an S19 114060 and a Q66 126610lv) both are years old and have been heavily worn, serviced, water proof tested etc. I don't baby them, I play golf in them, swim in them, they've been in the sea, I treat them like I'd treat a gen if I were a millionaire, you look after it, but you don't worry about a few scratches or getting it wet.
I have access to a similarly heavily worn gen 126610ln.
The VSF in isolation is pretty much gen like, but if you know to look, then the rehaut is a clear tell.
As is the slight noticeable back play in the bezel compared to the gen which is better but not zero backplay and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
The gen does look to tick slightly smoother although both are obv 28800bph and visibly do tick, I'm presuming better tolerances is causing it.
Once serviced movement interaction is indistinguishable.
The glide lock on gen is better, all are heavily used, the VSFs both feel fine but a little loose. The gen feels like it's on bearings, it's absolutely flawless.
Clasps, not a lot in it, especially with the 114060 Vs gen.
Bracelets likewise remember all these are well worn.
Weight - identical, case and bracelet edges etc - nothing in it.
The way the bracelet links move and feel - nothing in it.
It really is not "why would you buy a fake?", it's "why would you buy a gen?"

For the most part, I agree with your assessment. I just don't understand how Noob could get that bezel to feel just like my gen, and VSF couldn't. After consideration, I may just do some modding to the bezel and a service and then it can't get any better really.
