Yes it is - perfect example of parallax error. The right side of the watch is closer to the camera so the date window will appear centered in the cyclops. This shifts the APPARENT position of the insert markers to the left. Compare these two pics, taken seconds apart with the only change being the right side is closer to the camera in the second pic.

It is similar to the Yachtmaster they released.

At position 3, moving the crown forward will move the hands forward, while at position 2, moving the crown backwards moves the date forward.

Andrew, the opposite of this has been confirmed by two members with the VS3235 in hand on the VSF YM42

KJ, just checked my YM:

postion 2 : rotate crown clockwise -> date advances
position 3 : rotate crown anticlockwise -> time advances.

So this is actually good news as it DOES match the gen 3235

Position 2: Forward crown = Forward date
Position 3: Backward crown = Forward hands

The improved power reserve of the Calibre 3235 is due to an improved, lighter escapement and high-capacity barrel with a longer mainspring. Has VSF really replicated this capability, or does it just look the part? I can't imagine it's anything more than aesthetics, but hope I'm wrong.

Either way it does not match gen, but I guess it's better that time setting is correct.

KJ I think I can clear this up. See the gen video below. At 5:20 the date wheel change and date crown direction is clockwise like an ETA The same is true with the VS 3235 clone.

Great news, I had some incorrect info. My wife's new gen DJ 31 does advance the quickset date with a backward crown movement, so I mistakenly thought it applied to all the new series of movements. Her DJ31 has a 2236 movement, not a 3235 like the DJ36/41. Thanks for clearing this up bro.
