I can take a screenshot of the previous gen VSF from a Youku video and it will look way better than that.

It’s not sensible to compare two different videos. The video would be different, it may be playing on your device at any number of compression levels - you can’t make a comparison like this.

Here is grab from video showing both at the same time. The fit and finish looks the same on the 11 and 12 series reps.

Actually, they both look terrible because - see below.

Low resolution doesn't magically make end links and case shape look like garbage.

Yes, it does (see above) but it has nothing to do with magic. Forget the resolution - it's more the compression used on lower quality video, which depends on literally everything from the source, to the bit rate of the host to the bit rate of your service provider at any given time. Compression affects straight and curved edges, and details more than anything else. Furthermore, the watch is still covered in cellophane, which has its own shape, surface, shadows, and highlights.

And then you're here with doctored promotional photos to back up your argument? Cmon dude.

Yeah, again, working in media - a lot, I can tell you these pictures were not ‘doctored’ by which I guess you mean retouched. They are just shot inside a light cube. Why would they keep the wrapping on them if they wanted to create flattering product shots?

I have no dog in this fight - it's going to be at least three months before I buy one. Just pointing out the errors in your analysis to others.

I'm sorry but... in that low res photo, I can't criticize anything about the previous gen model. Previous gen model looks great there. It doesn't look nearly as bad as the model in the Youku video I have seen. So I must disagree. Both previous gen LN and LV has the right case shape and nice SEL recession. Both sides of either model look to have even, and deep recession. On the new generation the recession seems uneven, and looks deeper on the left side than the right.

You kind of helped prove my point. I don't know where you wanted to go with this. I don't see how you can genuinely say it looks as bad as the screen cap I took. The quality of the two are worlds apart.

I'll concede the doctoring point. Maybe it was not doctored, but taking pictures in a nice fancy way can illustrate some tricks that user reviews and Youku reviews can expose, so I'd rather take them with a grain of salt.

I don't have a dog in this fight either, as I am an owner of the previous gen VSF model and I prefer this new gen model to that. I'm rooting for VSF here. Just voicing what I see.

I kind of disproved everything you said there, but interpret it whatever way you want. You looked at a low res video and proclaimed that the release was 'rushed', with a case shape and end links which were 'garbage'.

Fortunately, for everyone, it looks like a solid release.

I don't think you did. But hey, we can agree to disagree. I have seen these photos. The bottom left (from our POV) SEL is spot on. The other three sides are way too flush. I am personally not a fan. Look at the most exposed two, which is on the left hand side. The upper left is not as nicely as recessed as the bottom left. I couldn't live with that. If you could, great. My VSF from the previous gen is evenly recessed.

I mean this is literally the reason I caused some controversy over why I was not a fan of the ZF. VSF is now having this issue with their newest model. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone I'm not a fan of this bad SEL issue.

I do think this will be improved in future batches however. Like I said I don't think it's great running head first into the newest rep out.

Down under
Real question is why do we have two separate threads going. Andrew's either on Internet Explorer or he's just too slow.

You cant be serious mate??? Here you have a gen:

Go and look on chrono24 for more photos. They all look flush.

I think you need to re-read the earlier posts this topic. I have long since established that Rolex has had various batches of the new gen with a wide variety of recession. I think the first few batches has near-flush end links much like the VSF right now.

Here is a video up front an in HD with nicely recessed end links.

Why the fuck are you then arguing about flush sels on the vsf if even rolex does it??? Did you consider that maybe vsf got one of these flush gens and replicated it?

Cause Rolex fixed it in later batches? I am stating my opinion that I'd rather wait for a batch that fixes it too? If you like this buy it and enjoy it. It's not my taste.

Correct me if i am wrong. Unlike the 11 series, I think on the gen 12 series, the entire crystal has an ar coating. I know the 11 series vsf crystal was really good but I wonder if the 12 series vsf crystal has this coating like the gen
