It's not the same quality as the previous releases. This is the low-end version. There are some other low-end versions of the new releases as well at $218.

Rufctr2 interesting, he is advertising it as replica and it looks like a good one. Strange it was posted one week ago. I am following 50 dealers (at least) and nobody advertised it so far. Other members have inside information as well and still no news about it..

I hope so as well. But I've ssen pictures of the gen where the carbon can be subdued or prominent, depending on the angle of the light hitting the dial.

Checked out a 979 Gen in a Panerai store abroad day before. The carbon dial does indeed look subdued depending on the angle of light. However, I'm really waiting for the 961
