VR3135 Balance Upper & Lower KIF spring

1st post! So hello everyone.

Ive serviced quite a few 2824's, NH35s etc but came across my first 3135 service recently. VR3135...

I have managed to snap both KIF springs on the upper and lower balance. Are these prone to snapping so easily? Or is it technique?
Where can I purchase replacements? (UK)

You need KIF Elastor 3-3 springs. Cousins should have them available. And they are very fragile, but it's mostly technique. Check out some watch making videos to see how they do it, and use magnification of some sort. Digital microscopes are getting very good and affordable. Andonstar sells them very cheap over on AliExpress.

I have just had a look, i will try the cling film trick haha..

Are the 3-3 a straight fit, i saw a post on here (the OP had 6-2) and there was a bit of modification needed to make them fit

Pretty sure it's a straight fit. The ref 95019-4 which is the OEM spring should be the same as an elastor 3-3. You could also get a couple of gens off of eBay but it's gonna be a lot pricier.
