Canada, but in Hungary... for now
I think it's great that people support the forum by paying for VIP status, but in no means should they be considered a more reliable buyer/seller/member by doing so. In my short time here I've seen some members have undeserved bias towards non-VIP members.
In my books, a non-VIP member with 500 posts is better to deal with than a VIP with 10.

Just because you can buy a boat doesn't mean you can actually pilot it.
But please don't get me wrong, buy VIP status - it'll make you taller!
And if you can't afford it, you should at least donate something after a sale.
Or both!
Just my two pesos

Nobody here points a gun to his head.
The forum has a cost.
There is no writing obligation to donate to become VIP.
Is a moral issue.
But if you're part of a community , donate something , for what I think , is the best thing you can do....almost your duty.... :)

Google wallet and amazon payments are great options. Both companies are world wide and offer some type of support. I guess if you're looking for something similar to PP's "big brother" way of running things, then you might be out of luck.

Being a VIP means nobody can f*** with you without a sit down and an ok from a boss, it means you're untouchable. Oh no wait that's my other club.

Being a VIP here means you give something back for all the amazing help and support you get from others at this top community.

Hi, just wondering why some people seem to put a lot of value on being a VIP on the site. All it means as far as I can tell is that you have paid for a "membership".

For example, I donated money after my sale and anyone can donate money whenever they want, without being a VIP or being recognised for it.

Am I missing something?

Going VIP publicly shows you have financially contributed to supporting this great forum in every post you make.

I agree it doesnt make you any more trustworthy, but it is a good way to publicly state your intentions - that you support the community and value what is gives you enough to put your money where your mouth is :)

And dont get me wrong, making a donation is a great thing to do, but not sure why you would do that, rather than become VIP?

Look, every member should donate. Think of everything you've gained by finding this place. You didn't get F'ed on your rep, you made some new friends, and you have a place to ask questions and get real answers to.

Being a VIP might not necessarily make you more trustworthy, but given the option I would much rather do business with a member that has been charitable towards the forum as opposed to one that has not.

Being VIP enables me to show appreciation for this forum and it's contributors especially for noobs like me who don't have a high post count due to not having enough watch knowledge to contribute.

Thanks Mike. Although I have to admit I'm a little worried since Rogers and the Pack seem to be playing well right now. Niners will have to play a good game that's for sure.
