I am a huge vintage fan, but those are pretty beat to heck....

If the 'crystal' wasn't so scratched or whatever happened (sand paper? grinding wheel?) they'd be much better.

One man's poison is another man's candy. I am sure there is a someone somewhere who LOVEs this extra weathered look.

I'm all for vintage stuff, but that first watch is all but unreadable...

The "vintaging" on the dial of the second is a bit heavy-handed, IMO. Which is why I haven't tried to vintage any of my dials, yet.

I like the vintage look, but that looks to manufactured, and part of the nice things about plexi is being able to polish out those little scratches (and leaving the bigger ones).

That looks a little bit overdone too much. Can you still read the time on it. I kinda like it though.

Hi,
I am the kind of guy that runs to the supermarket to buy a polishing kit when any kind of small scratch occurs...
So you can imagine how beautiful I find these vintage thingies...on someone else's wrist !

BTW, did your Pannies belong to Ramses II or something like this ??

Bit too much for me. 3-4 deeper scratches and a few little ons would do better imo.

now all you need to do is get a good crack across the crystal and drill a small hole in the case somewhere. you can always stick it in a garbage disposal for a couple seconds?

I don't think I've ever seen pics of a real vintage that looked that beat up

I think calling it Vintage is being a little too kind. Funny though cause look how nice the crown looks.

Whats funny is I remember a post about a guy that wore his gen sub as a daily beater for 20+ years as a heavy machinary mechanic (nautical i think). And his watch looked to be in better condition than this.

He also lost it in an engine room in a boat and it sat in a pool of oil for over a year and when wound still worked.

That crown needs some vice grip action.

Yep that is the one. If I remember correctly the guy only had it serviced 1 over its life... It's been a while though, i might be thinking of another watch story.

The distressing of the case does not come close to matching the crystal.
