Great review. I ordered my Double Red from Puretime on 12/21 and recieved it yesterday. I order dial number 2. I agree with all your comments.

Not that I ever take it at face value, being a noob here, I assume that the vendors stipulation that this watch is resitant to 50 meters should be validated by a third party and actually have it waterproofed?

Absolutely, Jax. Get it pressure tested before you get it wet.

On a side note.......

Hey look! This is now an Award-Winning Review! :woot:

Lovely watch.

You need a vintage tritium relume, Pbdad to age the case and bracelet for you, shave the CG and to install a Clark tropic crystal.

Then it will be perfect

Like mine...... ;)

007 -

This was my first good rep I have purchased. How is your movement? Should I expect perfectly smooth or is there the slighets of hesitation in the movement?

Thanks - I am just trying to understand the expectation.

The movement is a low beat ETA which has a bit of hesitation compared to the newer Rolex movements, but it is actually more correct given the Rolex caliber in the gen 1665 was 19,800bph vs 28,800bph of the modern calibers.

Thank you avenger007, your review prompted me to purchase the same watch(my first rep) from lay.

Although I collect gens, I've always lusted for a drsd, and this will be a project watch. I appreciate the thorough review and pictures.
