I'm quite excited to share my experience in dealing with @Vietkidd05 and also a review with pics for my latest -- and current star of the show -- Daytona rep!
I was introduced to @Vietkidd05 by my man in the UK, @Zero2 , who sold me a beautiful Starbucks. The global networking that RWI offers is truly amazing -- a big thank you to the RWI staff!
@Vietkidd05 ticked all the boxes, especially once I got to speak regularly with him. He was from the US [I was wary of buying anything overseas during this turbulent period in the US], he's a very passionate and knowledgeable guy when it comes to the hobby [especially when it comes to mods], and we had some great conversations throughout the buying process and still to this day.
I was looking at a special Daytona as a birthday present to myself. We both agreed on a date where I'd pull the trigger....and this is when his patience and professionalism came in. As I was ready to buy it, we took measurements of my wrist as we all know Oysterflexes are unforgiving re: sizing. His E's and F's were just too tight for my 7 7/8" wrist, and unfortunately he did not have any G-sized OFs. Instead of going with other interested buyers [as you can see in the sales thread below], he kept his word, sourced a quality G OF from either Clean or VSF [I forget which], and we waited a few weeks.
Once received, he sized it perfectly. F at the 6, and the G at the 12.
With this being my third rep and an owner of 3 gens Rolexes, I hadn't gotten into the world of modded reps or Daytonas at all yet -- and I'm so happy that I did.
The case is BTF, and it was re-plated rose gold to perfection. He also installed the Sundust Baguette dial you see from Clean, as well as a Deep xtal and water-proofing. And being the gentleman he is, he also included the original black dial and crystal!
It's an absolutely stunning piece. Today, I realized that Subs = cool; GMTs = sexy; and Daytonas = refined elegance.
To boot, I think this piece is a lucky one! It came just in time for a date with my new girlfriend, and we won big at the casino w/ both Blackjack and roulette -- that never happens! What a great first memory with this piece.
